I thought there were some good points made in both articles. I think we, of all people, saw the importance of a point guard this past year. We were lacking for even a
decent PG. Thus, why everyone is calling Felton our savior for next year....
As for the rules of the game of basketball, I agree with a lot of that. My main contention is with traveling. Tell me how you can take three steps in the lane and get called... and then take three steps going up for a fast-break jam and it's okay. Where is the consistency? For once, I would love to see some kid going up for a breakaway dunk, take an extra step, and then get called for it and just sit there dumbfounded. The truth is, nobody questions it anymore because it is exciting and no official wants to be the one to ruin an exciting play like that. I'd say, just give me that chance....
I also agree that the closely-guarded rule has to go. What does it matter if the guy guarded me closely or not? If I still have the ball, then it means I am doing something right! I'd like to think that defense is more than just being in the vicinity of another player....
