did anyone happen to see Joe Namath when they were interviewing him on the sidelines? He was freaking drop dead drunk. He was barely coherent. Some woman was interviweing him, and he kept saying "I want to kiss you." Big time overrated Joe Namath, was and always will be a bum.

The NFL should be ashamed of themselves. I know they weren't responsible for Namath being drunk, but this is over the edge. this is what the National Felons league has come to.
The National Felons League? If you hate the NFL, why post over here in the NFL forum, a place for people to talk about football...the majority of us who probably LIKE football.

The NFL is no worse than any other league. You have steriods in baseball, NCAA violations in college basketball, and the freakin' BCS in college football (which is the worst of all of 'em).....

No league is perfect. Don't group the whole NFL into a league of "felons" because it's not true.

i love the Giants, but i've lost my love for the NFL.

You've never heard anyone call it the National Felons League?

Don't even get me started on college sports. College sports is such a sewer. I agree with you on that. But don't juxtapose steroid violations in baseball (we don't know the percentage of users) with the National Felons League. I've got to hand it to paul tagliabue, he's done a great job of selling his sport. i guess it's not too hard when you appeal to thugs who want reduced lunches but can afford many NFL jerseys. And why do they want those Jerseys? because the newest jerseys are black. gang colors. they sell easier. the NFL is made up of thugs who appeal to thugs.

Disclaimer: I'm not calling you a thug, but the NFL makes a lot of money off of selling merchandise to gang members.
Wow.
Tasha Wrote:Wow.
uh, ok.

you recognize that most teams have these new black jerseys, that they don't wear but only sell. the only team i've seen who actually wears these jerseys, are the Eagles. Go figure, philadelphia.
Great googly moogly.

I think you've pretty much accomplished the sounding disrespectful part. I think both of our responses just illustrate the shock we're still probably going through after reading your posts.

fine. i don't care that i was disrespectful. I'm just sick of the NFL appealing to the thugs and not the middle aged men, any more. Actually, i don't see how i was disrespectful, but ok.
Namath had a few drinks....someone shoved a mic in his face....big deal.

it just isn't that simple. I assume the NY writers are ready to jump all over this.
now to get started on Mr. Joe Horn.
That was the most bush league thing i've ever seen! he made a mockery of the sport, and made fun of the Giants. he also cost his team 15 yards on the kickoff, which led to a Giants TD. Some people think this is funny and should be laughed off. Well like Mike Lupica said today on Sports Reporters, "if this is funny, what's too much, where do you draw the line?" one of the other guys on the show asked Lupica if his kids thought it was funny, and Lupica said "oh great, let's put the world in the hands of my kids."

This and Chad Johnson's stunt makes me sick. The NFL needs to suspend these guys, not give them slap on the wrist fines.
It was one of the funniest things I have seen.

Your comments offend me, just because you didnt think it was funny doesnt mean everyone has to agree with you and that anyone who doesnt is "bush league."

And just FYI the NFL's target audience is the 18-35 bracket not "middle-aged" men. If they made it to cater to 50 year old men they would lose a lot of money. Learn something about demographics and economics before you spout off at the mouth again.

EXACTLY, HF4L!

Swoosh, you are still a moron. Shutup already, Damn!

i said the demographic used to be middle aged men, but yes i know it's the 18-35 yr old, wise guy crowd now. Actually i thought it was funny, but rude. When he first did it, i laughed. I never said it wasn't funny.

I've had a few drinks in my life, he had more than a few 03-wink

I just wonder why they didn't realize he was stinkin sloshy before they shoved the mic in his face.
Coulda saved this whole mess.
All sports have their problems, and I realize that. But think of the happiness and joy the world of sports bring to so many people. The jump for joy when your team wins, you cry with them win they lose. Sure, sporting leagues has problems, but instead of always talking about the faults lets talk about how the world of sports so positively affects lives everywhere. 04-bow

when the NFL appeals to thugs it makes me sad. This used to be a classy league. here's another good opinion on the NFL.
