I posted this on every other UNC forum I could think of, so I figured I'd do it on this one too:

quote:
Folks, you know those jokers from Texas will be wearing their ugly off-red orange color to the game this Saturday. How atrocious -- the only way we can offset this hideous sight is to all wear Carolina blue to the game on Saturday.

This is a national spotlight game. The cameras will be rolling, and there will be plenty of crowd shots. Which fans do you want to show up on national TV: ours, or theirs?

While it may be true that Carolina blue doesn't stand out as well as some darker colors, that is no excuse to not wear it. Believe me when I say that if a majority of our fans are wearing Carolina blue, it will show up. If only a smattering wear it, of course it won't.

And for those of you who don't realize the effect that wearing your school color has on a game, I will remind you that the crowd can have a visual impact on the game as well as an audial one. It adds to the intimidation factor that a home crowd carries.

So, please remember to wear Carolina blue this Saturday! GO HEELS!

-JD

I'm planning on wearing Carolina blue on Sat. But then I'm in Carolina Fever too and we always wear the most beautiful color in the world! So now it will look like the whole crowd has been infected by the FEVER!!! Let's go Heels!
Also (I forgot to mention this in my last post just a few minutes ago) if you see Butch at the game make sure to get a cheer started with his name on it! Say somewhere in the line of "We want Butch!"? Or perhaps "Aye Ziggy Zoomba (etc.), Come one down, you tarheel recruit, come on down, and play for Ca-ro-lina". Just a little thought.

I am gonna try and make a sign, but I know I am going to have to work in a concession stand for most of the game which sucks. If you see this tall, white, blond-haired guy (Brian Butch) go shake his hand and introduce yourself and tell him we'd love for him to be a Tar Heel. We want everything to go well on his visit.

BTW, I will be wearing my UNC blue.
Sadly, I will not be attending the game on Saturday.

I had tickets, but could not get someone to go with me here in Charlotte (imagine that). I really would need someone to make the drive back with me that night, since the game should end sometime between 11 and 12 at night. I would have been driving into the morning hours....

I did, however, find someone in Chapel Hill to use my tickets. That makes me feel a little better about the whole thing. And I will be wearing Carolina blue, even at home....
