Is this just like a highway or something that leads to both schools? I hear of it everytime Duke and UNC play in basketball..
I believe that's just a nickname given because the four schools (Duke, Carolina, Wake and State) are so close together. Plus, many cigarette companies are up there, hence Winston-Salem and Reynolds Coliseum.
Tobaccoa Road is Duke, State, UNC, and Wake. and the cities they are in. I replyed on the old one but it didn't make it.

That would be sweet if there really was such thing as "Tobacco Road." :laugh:
I guess Old Erwin Rd. could be considered a connection between the 2 schools, but there is no tobacco road, lol.
what about 15-501? dont that go to both schools?
15/501 is the best-known road going from UNC to dook.
If there were a true "Tobacco Road," it would be I-40, which goes from Winston-Salem in the west, passes right through where Chapel Hill and Durham meet, and then goes to Raleigh in the east.
