The 33-42 Los Angeles Lakers have officially been eliminated from playoff contention. Mr. Bryant, enjoy your early vacation. :roflol:
Out of curiosity where do the Heat stand? Aren't they #2 in the east?

Actually, they locked up the top seed in the East tonight and are still in the running for home court advantage throughout the playoffs.
Wonder if Mitch wants to trade Shaq for the Kobster?
have you ever seen anyone's image take a hit quite like Kobe's? one minute he was the next michael jordan, a smart guy, and a good person, now he's a ballhog, egomaniac, who runs the team.
I htink the playoffs in the NBA have some serrious problems...A team that has a loosing record can make the playoffs that should not happen. And a 7 game series is a bit long
Rooting for the Lakers to lose has been the only thing that's kept me interested in the NBA. The Hawks are an embarrasment to the city of Atlanta. I can't watch them hardly at all anymore.
I have not watched and NBA game in, well, forever.

I'm sure you can add another thing to Kobe's resume. :kobe:

:stupid: Their luck is so bad that they'll probably end up with one of the 3rd or 4th worst record of all time this year, and they still won't win the draft lottery. Even if they did, they'd blow it on someone worthless (read: Jon Koncak, Priest Lauderdale, Dion Glover, Dermarr Johnson, etc, etc, etc).

Dermarr Johnson isn't worthless. He got in a car accident that almost took his life. Now he is starting with the Denver Nuggets. He would be your best player this year, if your GM hadn't given up on him.

And even if we do get the No. 1 pick we just happen to be picking in one of the weakest draft classes in recent memory. Andrew Bogut would be a decent pickup, but he's not an immediate difference maker like a LeBron James.

The Hawks are absolutely in shambles. We never recovered from that ill-fated J.R. Rider experiment. In fact, we've only dug ourselves a deeper hole since then.

Where's Dominique and Spud when you need them?
They could probably suit up and start for the Hawks right now if they wanted to. Hey, you've got a 46 year old playing first base in this same town. :D

Seen the Braves lately? How about the Falcons in the 90's.....with the exception of the Superbowl? Thrashers anyone?

No embarrassment there. They're the 13-time defending division champs until someone dethrones them.

Quote:How about the Falcons in the 90's

True, but they were more like lovable losers in my book.

Quote:Thrashers anyone?

This begs the question, are they really an embarrassment if no one knows they exist? 03-wink
