I have a very simple solution to the entire Cindy Sheehan affair.

Let her meet with the President.

That's right. I've finally changed my tune.

Let her meet with the President who thwarted the United Nations Security Council and made the case for war.

Let her meet with the President who hindered the progress of United Nations weapons inspectors.

Let her meet with the President who lied about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction that they'd use on Americans.

Let her meet with the President who killed thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians.

Let her meet with the President who came to office in a rigged election, and maintained his grip on power through rigged voting and militaristic patriotism.

Let her meet with the President who turned his country's media into a mouthpiece for his fascist and discriminatory policies.

Let her meet with the President who transformed his country into a single-party dictatorship, sowing fear and resentment against any who dared to oppose his iron-fisted rule.

Let her meet with the President who proved himself a coward by fleeing when his country was attacked.

Let her meet with the President who should be brought up on war crimes charges for his dastardly misdeeds.

Let her meet with the President who spent billions of dollars on weapons while social welfare programs went unfunded and the poor continue to suffer for it to this day.

Let her meet with the President who has a track record of invading Arab Muslim countries for oil.

Let her meet with the President who knew full well about the bloodthirsty torture and murderous horrors at Abu Ghraib.

That's right. Let her meet with Saddam Hussein.

Personally I think to get this out of the media ASAP, Pres. Bush should go ahead and meet her. The longer they do not meet the longer this will continue to be "news".

It is my understanding that he has already met with her. I think there is a slippery slope here. If he meets with one anti-Bushite, then more anti-Bushites will start demanding their meetings as well.

I just saw her quote posted in the other Sheehan thread. WTF happened to make her do a 180 like this?

I did not know that she had already met with Bush and now has done a complete 180 on her views. I think the black ops division of the SS needs to handle this :ninja:

No way in hell that he meets with her again. She's called him the biggest terrorist in the world and has said she wants to meet with him to ask him, "Why did you kill my son?" No way in the world the president of THE United States takes a meeting with a wack job like her.

BTW, a Rasmuessen(sp?) poll has her approval ratings at 38/35 dis/app. The public, despite what the media might want to portray, is not behind her. It's clear she's in it for publicity, nothing more.

When her own family is telling her to stop you have to know she's out to lunch.

I was thinking the same. There are millions of folks who, for one reason or another, would love one private chat with the President. Yet CS is demanding a second.

If Cindy stuck with the Iraq theme (I tend to lean on the anti-Iraq War side of things), she'd find more support, even among a number of conservatives.

But once she starts pontificating about Israel, 'it's all for oil', neocons, and regurgitates the pithy slogans like Bush-Is-the-Number-One-Terrorist and the usual Nazi references, she comes across sounding like a third-rate Michael Moore at an ANSWER rally.

The most visible anti-war speakers tend to rely too heavily on paranoia and name-calling, and thus alienate anyone outside their leftist circle of comrades.

I despise George Bush, but I don't think he should meet with her. If I went extremely public not only with his actual misdeeds, but called him names and questioned his integrity (deservedly so), I certainly wouldn't expect an audience with him.

I think the phrase "aid and comfort to the enemy" is hilarious. What right-wing redneck invented this load of crap? It's as relevant as how we all become "decent, hardworking Americans" in an election year. Politically contrived drivel.

so is the idea that war protesters hate America. I can't imagine that our country is led by people with such ungodly half-brained ideas. I hate Bush, I don't like this war, but I love America and I do support our troops. Why can't the redneck half of our pea-brained society grasp that possibility?

Why is that Liberals claim to be so accepting and compassionate yet refer to any Republican as a redneck? Are you a minority? Just curious because that is the normal comeback of most minorities who vote democratic.
I am certainly not a redneck but the things Cindy Sheehan have said should be an insult to all americans. To hate President Bush is fine and dandy. To refer to him as the worlds greatest terrorist is ridiculous. Cindy has said our country is not worth dying for and made what could easily be construed as anti-semitic remarks. Do you honestly believe that Al-Jazeera is not running this story and do you not think that it gives aid and comfort to the likes of OBL and the insurgents. They have studied the Vietnam model and know you cannot defeat America on the battlefield. They know the way to defeat America is to slowly bleed it and hope we lose our will to fight because of loss of life. They know the images shown in the media help their cause. If I was on their side I would be doing the exact same thing.

I agree with you about Cindy Sheehan. I wish she would go away. For the same reasons you mentioned, I don't believe she deserves any special audience with the president.

I'm not accepting and compassionate. I hate just as many people as you do. As a moderate liberal, there are plenty of liberals that I flat out can't stand, but on the other half of the spectrum there are the extreme righties who drive me more nuts. For instance, the picture with Saddam and Ms. Sheehan implies that people who don't like this war hate America. That is a redneck point of view, not so much Republican.

This is the reason I think Cindy Sheehan hates America and I think we all know that Saddam hates America. At the same time I dont lump all protestors in the category of Cindy Sheehan. There are plenty of Americans who are against this war who love America. We have never had 100% support for any war, most of the time we were lucky to have more then 50% support.

I am not sure how many people you hate but that is not an emotion I use too often. I never cared for Bill Clinton but I certainly did not hate the guy. On the contrary I am sure I would of loved to sit down and have a beer with him and shoot the breeze. Even ultra extreme liberals like Ted Kennedy, Robert KKK Byrd and Nancy PeLoser who I disagreely with immensely, I dont hate.

When and where I grew up, redneck was used to refer to the farmers who worked from sunrise to sunset 7 days a week to earn their living. I had a redneck for a neighbor - he plowed with mules and went into town about 5 times a month - 4 for church and once to the feedstore. Every other year he put on his suit and went and voted a straight Democratic ticket. If by redneck you are referring to hardworking, self reliant people, then I guess being a redneck is a good thing.

But word usage changes, and maybe redneck, like gay, no longer means what it used to mean. So how are you using it? White? Bigot? Republican? Ignorant? Person who disagrees with you? NASCAR fan? Hunter? Country music fan? Any combination of the preceding?
