Dear Florida State Fans,

I implore you to get a petition signed to have your team boycott the Sugar Bowl. As a UGA fan, it has been too many years in between championships and if we manage to win the SEC on December 7th by actually winning a game and not having someone beat another team so we can back in, we certainly do not want to go to the Sugar Bowl and play what will probably be an unranked 8-5 FSU team. What an anti-climatic supreme waste of a monumental season for UGA.

So, I ask you to go to your Athletic director and explain to him what an embarrassment it would be for FSU to be the laughing stock of the NCAA by setting a NCAA record of having the all time worse record EVER in a BCS bowl. Refuse to play in a game that your team obviously has no business playing in.

None of you should worry. You will return to prominence one day on a national scale, but it does go to show you that the ACC truly is without a doubt the weakest and most embarrassing conference in all of college football. Congratulations on your "championship". Please go play in the Continental Tire Bowl or something like that. Thanks in advance.

Seems to me you're counting the chickens before they hatch... i.e., just because YOU lost to Florida doesn't mean that Florida State will lose to them too. Something in FSU's favor is Florida hasn't beaten us in Tallahassee since '86. The team should be mad enough with all this bad publicity to whomp them all the way back to the swamp.

And if it embarrasses you that much to play FSU in the Sugar Bowl, I suggest you wear a paperbag over your head so no one will recognize you in New Orleans...
Hey UGA...

I understand that being from UGA, you have very
little in the way of a formal education...However
a quiz for you...

We have beaten Florida 11 times in the last 15
years! What's your record in that same period
of time...Huh?

How has Georgia done in its last 5 meetings with the
Seminoles?

Were four of those games played in Athens and the
other at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando?

We beat Tech in Atlanta...Can you?

Let me give you an easy one...Did you beat 1AA
NW La?

Post #1, who lets the dogs out??
Ok guys, lets' review:

1) I am not talking about UGA vs Fla. Yea, we have sucked against them in the past decade, but that was not the point of my post.

2) Even if you beat FLA, which I doubt, your team will still be 9-4 ranked around 15-17 and playing a top 5 team in a BCS bowl. Still doesn't seem right.

3) As with most powerhouse teams such as FSU, when you have a few midiocre seasons, you tend to live in the past (see Paul's reply). Who is talking about past records? I am talking about this year and only this year.

4) 1AA NW LA? Yea, that question has a lot to do with my post begging FSU not to play in a bowl that they don't deserve to be in.

5) Oh, and MsNole, I didn't say that UGA would be embarrassed to play FSU in the Sugar Bowl. Read my post again. I said what an embarrassment it would be for FSU to be the laughing stock of the NCAA by setting a NCAA record of having the all time worse record EVER in a BCS bowl. It would just suck for UGA to have to play you guys IF we get there. Hell, we could end up in the old Citrus bowl and you guys would play Arkansas or LSU. Wow, what a TV draw that game would be!

6) Oh, and Paul what does my formal or informal education have to do with any of this? In case you haven't noticed FSU is not the educational powerhouse either.

Enough said folks. I hope I was able to clear up my position a bit more for you. Thanks and good luck with that petition.

YouGeeAye, if FSU was to play UGA in a BCS Bowl game, think about the possibilities other than what you have mentioned. For instance, Richt the former O coordinator for FSU going up against his old team. You also mentioned possibly being the laughing stock of the football world, but before you go any further, you still have to 'play the game'. Yes we could get blown out in a bowl game, then again, we could pull a major upset and then who would be the laughing stock ?? How would it look if a 4-5 loss FSU team beats a 1 loss team in a BCS bowl ? How would it look if a mediocre FSU team wins against a team that has been dominate throughout the season ? Alot of people dont want to see a team with as many losses as FSU in a BCS bowl game because on paper it looks like a no win situation, but, on the other hand, the game isnt played on paper, and it could have all the makings of a huge upset. A 1 loss team losing to a 4-5 loss team in a bowl?? The Noles dont have anything to lose, if we lose the game its expected, if we win all of a sudden its one of the biggest talked about games in the BCS

Hey doofus... the facts, are the facts, are the facts... ain't no way, no how, that FSU would ever petition NOT to play in a bowl game. Even the rest of the ACC conference will be playing in bowl games and of course they want us in the Sugar because we have the best chance to beat you. Even your fellow bulldogs (one in particular that I've been talking to lately over on the Georgia board) wants to play FSU in the Sugar Bowl because it would be a GREAT game to watch. So like I said before... don't be counting your chickens before they hatch.

As much as Florida has sucked this year, you should have beat them hands down or tied behind your back. BUT no, you lost and now are assuming that we will too. Guess what assuming get you - the wrong answer BOY!!!

Like I said before, go put a paperbag on your head cause you're an embarrassment to your school
Hey Garnet, you made my point for me. No team should EVER play in a BCS game that has nothing to lose. A team with nothing to lose usually means that their season was a failure and they are in a game that they don't deserve to be in. Every team in a BCS bowl game or even a sub-BCS bowl game, should have something/anything to lose.

MsNole, don't be so sure that the Sugar Bowl wants FSU. Here's the situation in case you haven't kept up with things this year. FSU obviously is not going to Tempe. The Orange Bowl will have Oklahoma and 1st pick of an "at large" team. They want Notre Dame because they will "put asses in seats". The Rose Bowl is Big 10 vs Pac 10. So that leaves the Sugar Bowl by default as the only other BCS bowl left for the ACC "champion" to go to. Do you really think that they want FSU because FSU has the best chance to beat UGA? If you mean out of the ACC, then you are right but that is not why you may be going to the Sugar Bowl. You are going there because you won an incredibly weak conference championship and unfortunately the Sugar Bowl has to play wayward home for the ACC champ this year. Oh, you are right on one of your points. We should have beaten FLA but we choked. If we hadn't choked we would not be having this conversation. We'd be off to Tempe and you would be playing the SEC second fiddle. One last item, again it is not UGA fans that should be embarassed to play in the Sugar, it is the team that will go down in the record books of having the alltime worse record for a team in a BCS bowl. I imagine that the Sugar Bowl will have to try to sell the majority of FSU seats to UGA fans.

Oh and guess what dear... YOU'RE NOT GOING TO TEMPE EITHER.

Let's look at this fact... Georgia SOS Ranked #10
Florida State's SOS Ranked #2

Perhaps you should have played Miami and Notre Dame instead of New Mexico State and Northwestern St. Good heavens, if we had had your schedule we would have bee 11-0 now and not having to put up with silly posts like yours...

Rules are rules, we won our conference, whether people like it or not.

Its either one of 2 things that can happen.

1. Beat a 4-5 loss team and it makes for a boring game because everyone expects it to happen.
2. Dont want to play that team because someone else deserves to be there or what they really are saying is, We dont want to take our chances and lose to a team with 4-5 losses, that would ruin our season. So what happens if that scenario plays out ?

This whole conversation on who should be going to what bowl and why is useless, anyway seeing how there are about 10-15 bowls to many to start with, which in turn tells you its all about the money.

Shame on you MsNole! You really need to check facts BEFORE you post. Your schedule strength is not 2, Michigans is.

Also, when you play in the ACC you have to go outside the conference to find tougher opponents that inside your conference. Yes, this is a down season for the SEC, but in the last 25-30 years the SEC is among the toughest in the country.

Don't talk to me about schedules as long as FSU continues to play in the sand box of the ACC.

Stay focused on the issue at hand here MsNole. FSU does not deserve to be in the Sugar Bowl. Stay on that topic if you dare.
You best go and worry about winning your game against Georgia Tech and not about whether FSU is a worthy opponent.
  MsNole get your facts chicky pie :D :D

Oh boy just what we need, another SEC ACC debate :crying: :crying: All the your conference is weak, mine is the toughest :crying: :crying: yeah the SEC is the best, just ask their fans :crying: :crying: Just ask the NCAA when it comes to handing out probation too, what conference is the best 03-wink
Actually Garnet the SEC is having a down year this year. No argument from me and I certainly do not want to get into a ACC/SEC debate. I will say that I can't even believe that it would have ever been a debate who has the stongest conference. But we'll leave that for another time.

MsNole: I always worry about Ga. Tech. Finally you make a good point.

Now, what about that petition FSU fans?

All together now:

"NO SUGAR FOR FSU" "NO SUGAR FOR FSU" "NO SUGAR FOR FSU"
Well well well MsNole, I just found this message you posted in the UGA group. I thought it would be interesting for all your FSU buds to see:

"I did hear inklings that should FSU win the rest of their games, we could be meeting Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. God help us if that happens. "
'Noles fans....please understand Yougeeaye's point of view. It has been decades since Georgia has been to the Sugar Bowl and is terribly disappointing to think the Dawgs will be playing an FSU team that represents a once proud program in decline.

Since Mark Richt and Chuck Amato have left dear Ol' Bobby to coach for himself the 'Noles downright stink. If the ACC didn't stink even worse your precious 'Noles would be playing in the Independence Bowl or the kind of bowl Georgia has had to play in for the last 20 years.

In your hearts you know you wouldn't want to play some mediocre 9-4 or 8-5 team to cap off an otherwise stellar season. Do the right thing...tell Bobby to go to a bowl commensurate with his team's record!
04-bow

Garnett and Gold....how about we all agree the ACC is the toughest conference in the country (even though a team can lose and still win the championship) and the SEC is good only because our teams cheat. Georgia is one of the 10 SEC teams not on probation, Georgia is having its finest hour since 1982 and no Georgia fan wants the reward for this awesome season to be a game against a losing bunch of shoe-stealing, check forging, under achievers.

Go Dawgs!

So - and did you bother to post what "Q" Dawg wrote about it... NO. He and my Ole Miss buds seem to think it will be a GREAT matchup worth other viewers watching it. Seems to me that you and your other friends are still counting their chickens before they hatch.

Georgia still has to beat Georgia Tech and then win the SEC Conference Championship. So run along now boys, and take care of your own business. When that is all said and done, then come back over here and bother us Nole fans during the month of December before we meet in the Sugar Bowl
