I'm assuming everyone saw it. Some random thoughts:
1) The white boy had mad game from downtown. I can't remember his name now (I've blocked it from memory forever), but he was on fire. And we didn't have a guy near him half the time....
2) We got schooled trying to play defense. A good defensive team makes the offense work for shots. We gave them everything they wanted on a shiny silver platter.
3) I liked most of the first half. Hard-fought play from both teams, and we hung in there when it could have gotten a little away from us nearing halftime. When we went in at the break, I felt confident that the second half would also be evenly-played.
4) Turnovers. The guys were sloppy with the ball tonight. I know Illinois had something to do with that, but a lot of those turnovers were unforced. Nothing makes me want to :bang: more than played sloppy basketball.
5) Somebody tell the Illinois crowd that you don't chant "Overrated" at a team and then rush the court when the game ends. That tends to send mixed signals and confuse a lot of people....
6) We packed it up and went home with about six or so minutes left. I guess the guys knew by about then that it just wasn't our night -- we had been working so hard just to score on our end, and then giving it up easily to them on the other end. I guess the guys just decided it wasn't worth it anymore at that point.
7) The Illinois team that showed up tonight would have beaten us even if we'd brought our A game.
Did I miss anything?
