The Florida State "Sod Cemetary"...was first established
in 1962.

Anytime FSU would win or tie on the road, as an underdog...
They would dig up the turf and bring it back to the
Sod Cemetary, located at the entrance to the Florida
State practice fields. The rules have been altered over
the past years...They now include all Bowl Games,
All Away games with the Gaytors...All away games
with Miami.

It was Georgia who we whipped 18-0 up in Athens, Georgia. The captains presented it to Dean Coyle E. Moore who founded the tradition of the sod game. :D

There were three more pieces of sod that came out of
Sanford Stadium, before the dawgs got rid of us.

Hell, if we had played a there a few more times. the game
would have been played on dirt...all the sod would have
been buried at the Florida State Cemetary.

You did play us a few more times and we are ahead in the overall record, which means WE beat YOU more times that YOU beat US!!!!!
