Derrick Brooks, a former Florida State linebacker, and currently a linebacker with the Tampa Bay Bucs, was awarded The Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award. Derrick led his team in tackles (170) for the fifth consecutive year and led the NFL with three interception returns for TDs. His four TDs on turnovers tied for second most in a single season in league history. Brooks also had career highs in interceptions (five) and passes defensed (15). 04-bow 04-cheers
Very Cool! Was he #55 at FSU or was that Marvin Jones!?!?!?!

~NOLEY~
I definitely remember Brooks wearing #55... as for ShadeTree, I'm not sure what number he wore. ShadeTree (Marvin Jones) plays for the Jets I believe... or is it the Giants... hmmmmm

Tomorrow the Bucs take on the 49ers. Should be another GREAT game for the Bucs, especially now that Brad Johnson will be back in the lineup. He had a deep contusion on his back and was out for a least 2 of the Bucs games.

Go Bucs & the ex-Seminole Players!!! 04-cheers
Ms Nole, Marvin Jones does in fact play for the Jets. As a matter of fact, the Jets have 2 more starters besides Jones that also played for FSU.

BTW the other 2 are Sam Cowart and Laveraneus Coles.
