Rocky's across from the track, great pizza. Fisherman's Wharf on the lake, pretty good seafood.
i will be in Hot Springs this weekend (i know, i know). my family has a place over there. the following is an email i sent to a friend of mine earlier this summer about where to stay/eat. rates may be different now .

our place is on the lake, so most of the below restaurant recommendations are not downtown.

1. Arlington Hotel - historic, old hotel downtown w/good hotel bar/atmosphere. Rooms will be small. I think rates will be $125-150. I would recommend hanging out in the bar, but not staying here.
2. Embassy Suites - also near downtown shops, new hotel. Larger Rooms. Rates from about $150 for standard room.
3. Clarion Inn - located on Lake Hamilton. Boat/Wave Runner rentals onsite. Cheaper rates - around $100, I believe. 15 minute drive from downtown.

Restaurants

1. Doe's - originally from Greenville, MS. great steaks and tamale's. when my wife and i go over with our friends, we always eat here. it is on the lake.

2. Fisherman's Wharf - seafood restaurant on the lake. They have a huge patio outside overlooking the water. One of my favorite places to go. Good service and scenery.

3. Hamilton House - is also now a Bed and Breakfast (I don't know if you would consider staying there or not). I have never eaten there, but understand it is good.

4. Coy's - fancy steakhouse. I have never been there but it has been around there for 60 years. I know it is very expensive and I have heard it is not worth the $$$.

BubbaDuh Wrote:Great information! Unfortunatley the Embassy and Arlington are booked the weekend we are going. I have made reservations at the Austin, which is next to the Convention Center. If anybody has any horror stories please let me know.

Again, thanks for the help and back to basketball I go!

I've stayed in the Austin before. It's ok. Nothing to get excited about, but I've seen worse. I'd valet park my car there. Their parking garage is a pretty good walk down the street. I think you get free breakfest there too. It's not too bad.
Overall,I'd stay there again.
