So who's it gonna be guys? (I got all these names from hoops post)
My gut and my sources tell me it will be Roy, but we all know this was the case last time. If not Roy, I want Larry Brown. There is no doubt in my mind that Phil Ford will be on the bench no matter who the head coach is. Honestly, I don't want Self, Majerus, or Karl.
I'd support anybody from that list except Pitino. And, I don't want George Karl -- I think we can do better than that.

I'd love to have Majerus. He really knows his stuff....

I hope that now that Baddour has said the search won't be restricted to "the family", he doesn't purposely choose someone out of the family to make his point. If we don't get Roy Williams, I think it must be Larry Brown. All we can do now is cheer for Kansas.
I can tell you this... rumor on the stations in Tulsa is there is fear in Norman that OU coach Kelvin Sampson is greatly interested in the UNC job, having ties to the state.

That's just hearsay though

WPS
I like Sampson... but I don't like him that much.

I keep hearing about how he doesn't graduate players, which is definitely an issue if it's true (I'll admit that I'm not an expert on Oklahoma's program).

It would be a great PR hire -- a minority (a Lumbee indian at that), a guy from the state, and battle-tested and proven in the Big 12 -- but I just don't see it happening. Once again, I might just be reading too much into the graduation rate....

Hopefully Roy's ambiguity today about yesterday's press conference means he might be UNC bound once the dust settles after the tourney. Who knows though...

Roy Williams on saying no last time--

"...the whole idea was that something would jump out and grab me and tell me it was OK to [go to UNC]. The problem I was having was that for 12 years I'd gone into every home and recruited the players and said if you come to Kansas I'm going to be concerned about you for the rest of your life, you're going to be a part of my family for the rest of your life. I was really bothered during this time wondering if those players would feel I was disloyal or if I had been misleading them."

I think Nolan Richardson is still available..........

doh
I know all about the Carolina "family" and Tarheel "tradition" but I really think the best thing for you guys will be to go outside the Carolina family for a new coach. Some new ideas, someone who is not in such awe of the job and Dean Smith so they could actually put 100% of their energy into running a basketball program. Keepin' it in the family is a good thing but someone needs to swallow their pride and look at other coaches. A change at Chapel Hill might be a good thing.

doh
If we get Roy Williams or Larry Brown we will be set. :D 04-cheers
Whoa...Lets remember where our roots are boys... There is no better place to play in the world, than NC!!!! Kansas is a 2nd rate team(at best)(ok , they got a few breaks this year, but they'll be home in Lawrence tonight after loosing by 30 to Marquette)..besides we have Dean Smith. Kansas will NEVER measure up to our standards. We deserve better than Williams and Brown. Besides we have the best players in the world..Who does (former) coach Matt thinks he is trying to tell players to "push" themselves in practice!!!!!! Ha!!! This is NC We are the center of the Basketball universe, and any coach anywhere should never forget that. We "the players" will dictate the scedule, the rules, the practices, and when we want to play...If you don't like it than,Hell we'll just go to another school and win there!!!!!!! Don't mess with OUR blue blood!!!!!!!!! NC #1!!!!!!!!!
that was the most confusing post, ever
Good choice coach doh.I think Nolan would be a good one.Our players could dictate the game, and all wear headbands to show unity.Thank god that mean ol mat is gone. I think you nailed it blue blood native.Stay in kansas Roy,save yourself.
