I also hear he has re-opened his recruitment somewhat. And yes, he does have a girlfiend at OM, who is from Memphis. It is Touhey's daughter.

and why doesn't Tuohy just go back to Louisanna? Intentionally getting his daughter to date a Tiger commit just to keep him from following through? He will not stop until The University is relegated to DIAA. lmfao

Tell Cannon to ask Corey Mills how well the girlfriend thing works.

I will support Cannon with whatever his choice is he's a young kid. Although i feel if he goes to ole miss he will never play QB and thats what he's got to ask himself...At memphis he will have a shot

As I posted on another thread, Tom Lemming who is a big part of the selection committee is really high on Cannon. He believes he is just as good as Clausen the #1 ranked QB this year, He is just couple inches shorter.

yep, Lemming is 1/3 of the vote to make the team. Cannon got 2 of 3 it looks like. because the third vote comes from scout.com and you can tell they did not vote for him b/c of his current ranking over there.,

I think he said at the press conference announcing the selection that he was no longer committed. No link anywhere other than a pay message board that can't legally have content copied....but I put little faith in "announcements" like that anyway. I imagine the DeSoto Appeal sports guy will interview him at some point with a "no spin" answer.

I'm not going to tell you that I think Cannon's a stud QB....but have you seen the QB play we've gotten this year? I don't think a QB recruit of any account would go into the "will never play QB at Ole Miss" category at this point in time. The cupboard is definitely NOT full at QB.

He's changing his commitment b/c of a girl.

scout.com no longer shows him as a commitment (they did as of this morning). still shows him as medium interest, and his list now includes Oklahoma, Auburn, and Tulane, but not USM. Rivals substitutes Alabama for Auburn, and still has USM, but also hasn't updated his commitment--they still have him as a "soft" commitment.

anyone know where Lemming is based out of, and what his background is?

I happen to be good friends with the father of an OB player, who also happens to be his best friend on the team. According to him Cannon is still committed to Memphis. Take it for what it's worth, but I feel the information is solid.

Could anyone other than the Smith's have got their son another (5th) year of HS football? Everyone knows they still live in Memphis, but because of deep pockets they rent an apartment in OB and circumvent the rules, thus allowing a 19 yr. old Sr. a 5th year of HS eligibility. Maybe this will be a trend, play 3-4 years of ball in Memphis, then transfer to OB for another year, it's better and cheaper than prep school.
