Im sitting here watching FSU/Duke and just wanted to know what your stadiums maximum capacity is, also how many people showed up for this game tonight?
I dont know about anyone else but I get the feeling im watching a game being played on Friday night at a local highschool.
Dont have to worry about the crowd noise, thats for sure.
Dont take this post as a flame or anything, just curious about the crowd and is it always like this?
it is now

it used to be full, back when we knew what a win was

Well, I wonder why it is not at full capacity?

If wins are hard to come by for the past few years then you start losing your fan base. Plus what Duke fan would want to see their team humiliated by the FSU offensive clinic.

But at least Duke scored a TD on them.
My grandpa use to tell me stories about the historic teams of Duke (yeah, yeah, go ahead and laugh) when they went undefeated (and unscored on) and went to the Rose Bowl. They had to go as far as putting bleachers in the endzones and at the top of the staduim. I think the Carolina-Duke game last year was the largest attendance I have seen since they stopped taking photos in black and white.
But at least Duke scored a TD on FSU....ok
Again, the only reason I asked was because I got the feeling I was watching a game at a highschool stadium.

Come on, give them some credit. How would you feel if Duke was the number 5 team in the country and you guys were getting trounced at home. Would you not be proud to get into the endzone atleast once?

I'm not being sarcastic. Not many teams have been scoring TD's on the FSU defense this year.

COMBINED the total points scored against FSU is 37 points

the most one team has scored is 13. so a TD is not bad. its more then UNC managed.
Cpapacity is 40,000

Attendance was 29,000 plus...

Duke does have a pretty "storied past"...

Did go undefeated, untied and unscored upon
one year...Late 30's or early 40's. However,
did surrender a TD to USC in the Rose Bowl in
the closing minutes and lose 7-3.

Rose Bowl, in 1942 was actually played at
Wallace Wade Stadium, because of the War.

Spurrier led them to an ACC Title, in '89...

When Fred Goldsmith coached them...I believe
they won their first 7 games in the mid-nineties,
until Florida State brought them back to reality...

Since then...its been pretty gruesome...

(I know...I know...LL..."Shutup Paul and make a
Field Goal against Miami!")
Metro I didnt take as you being sarcastic. Duke did score on them, matter of fact that was a very good drive that they put in against the Noles.
Coach Bowden even made a comment about it at the half.
The difference with the Noles this year and last year is that so far they have been very hard to score on.
After 5 games.....
2002 FSU was 4-1 with 103 points scored against them
2003 FSU is 5-0 with 37 points scored against them.
So of course I give Duke credit for scoring on them. I dont want the Noles to get carried away and think that NO ONE this year is going to score on them, its good to think like that, but dont get carried away with it.
I would love for the Noles to hold all their opponents to less then 10 points, I just dont see it happening.
I dont have nothing against Duke or any ACC team, I just felt out of place watching Staurday Nights game and the best place to ask questions about Duke is obviously on the Duke board
