Quote:Please explain why people on this board are so damn proud of our NIT accomplishments?

Just get off of our board.
I have no clue why you would ever be here.
This is time for celebration, not your #$%^&*

Ouch. When oldtiger finally snaps, then this board is in serious trouble.
Wow I get my own thread. 04-rock
Who says I'm not celebrating? Call me crazy but i'm celebrating this a whole heck of a lot more than last year's exciting NIT brackets! I know I am in the minority here since the NIT is something to be just as proud of, right?
Go take a nap.

Society works with folks that commit crimes the first time, second time, third time, fourth time, etc. There comes a time when even our forgiving justice process gives up on someone being productive. Denver's just unproductive.
Nah, ot's right.

No matter how great of a day we're having, you and a few others will, without fail, find something to criticize or complain about, and I think I can pretty much speak for the majority of us when I say that we're pretty well sick and tired of it.

Man you guys really love the NIT. Maybe Cal should have pulled an Al McGuire and declined the NCAA invite so we could have played in it.
Look out Denver the herd is closing in.

I for one agree the NIT is not something to celebrate but it sure beats the heck out of still having Tic Price around especially when you consider it was a base for what we have done this year.
Nah, the NCAA put in a rule after Maquire pulled that stunt so that if you got an NCAA invite you had to accept it. The last year to really feel great about your NIT accomplishments was probably 73 or so when they started inviting more than just conference champions to the NCAA. After that the NIT became a joke.

I hope they put in a rule where if you are invited to the NIT after not making the NCAA, you either can't turn it down or you are given a one year NCAA-ban punishment.

Since the NCAA now owns the NIT it wouldn't surprise me if there isn't such a rule put in before long. Interesting how it seems nobody turned down an invite this year.
FYI, I never mentioned NIT, just someone's inability to celebrate without attempting to get everyone in a gutter when something good happens.

Denvertiger, the only reason why this was its own thread because I didn't want the other thread thrown on the smack board like this one - it was obviously going to end up there if I voiced my opinion. If you can't enjoy the good times, why on earth would you be here except to irritate folks. Adopt another group of fans to "cheer" with.

FUT, it wasn't my attempt to rally any kind of "herd". I don't disagree with you NIT comments. My point wasn't about the NIT itself but one person's continued attempt to put a damper on any good news around here.
Oldtiger, you are correct in pointing all this out but it is a losing cause.

"Fans" such as DenverTiger simply cannot openly express enjoyment with a successful TIGER sports moment. They have to be contrary ESPECIALLY when everyone else is in a good mood. They post with a deliberate intent to quell enthusiasm by creating unnecessary negatives about MEMPHIS sports.

Denver and his ilk have the same posting rights as everyone else. The ignore feature does work. I use it for "fans" like him, and it is GREAT. I wholeheartedly recommend it! He posts things to rile folks up, and I don't have to read them at all.....unless a thread is created about it!!

Since we are on this topic, I notice certain posters who relish hard times and tough losses for MEMPHIS haven't posted too much in 2006. I wonder why that might possibly be??

I will bet the farm that IF the TIGERS don't run off 6 in a row in this NCAA tournament, these same no show posters will suddenly appear with their usual BS claims about how ineffective MEMPHIS was; how they knew the TIGERS would lose; the team wasn't fully prepared; the players are horrible; time to get rid of Calipari; etc.
