Big game this Sunday vs. Georgia Tech. It would not be good for our chances of competing in the conference if we dropped our first two games on our home court. In saying that, I don't think it will happen. I think our guys will be more prepared for this game than any other we have had this season, so I am going to go out and say that I think we will win by ten points or more.
And remember the "Turn it Blue" campaign starts this Sunday.

Quote: In an effort to encourage all fans to wear Carolina Blue, UNC Athletics officially introduces the "Turn It Blue" campaign. The purpose of this promotional effort is to increase the number of fans that wear Carolina Blue to all home athletic contests. Beginning this Sunday night at the men's basketball game versus Georgia Tech, we ask all fans to make a concerted effort to wear Carolina Blue.

Quote: This promotion should fuel the already potent Carolina school spirit, plus maximize home court/field advantage. Coach Roy Williams is a major proponent of this campaign and feels strongly about the message it sends.

I'll be wearing my blue there if I get tickets.
Let me reiterate my support for "Turn It Blue." I'm a big believer in the idea of "visual support" at a game, in addition to crowd noise. And, I think both of those feed off each other. All in all, it's a great idea and a step in the right direction.

To those of you going to the Tech game: wear blue, and cheer the Heels to victory for me!

just a little question...

the people that we see on tv(behind the benches) are the old people who donated $$ for the dean dome, correct? what are the chances these people would have school spirit? from what i've seen they just sleep there!

i could be wrong [Image: shrug.gif]

but yeah, this is a huge game. but what games won't be huge this year? haha

im excited, GO HEELS!!
What would be ideal, is if a big donor/company printed out thousands of Carolina blue shirts and they passed them out at the doors at like two big home games. Then people would be sure to have a color shirt to wear. Don't worry, I'll do it when I hit the big time. :)

Thank you to Roy and the boys! 04-bow 04-bow 04-bow  :saber: 04-rock 04-drinky :D
Wow -- I was stunned with the way the Heels came out at the start... and even more impressed that we kept the intensity up as long as we did. When the announcers said, "This reminds me of the way Carolina started against Wake," I started worrying that we were going to have our patented letdown during the middle of the half. Actually, we didn't reall have one of those until the end of the half... so, that wasn't too bad.

I think we also caught Tech on a bad night (for them), which didn't hurt matters. We're going to have a much tougher time beating them in Atlanta, especially if they're on their game.

But, for now, the guys should just enjoy this win and get ready for Maryland. It's really nice to get that first ACC win (a big monkey off Roy's back)....

GO HEELS!

WOW! I was impressed by that showing last night! I didn't get to watch it, so I listened to it on that Yahoo broadcasting. The play by play guy couldn't keep up, Ford was in the background laughing at him trying to... McCants sounded like he showed up with his defense in tow, May and Felton were AWESOME! Our Press and transition offense were great! I hope we can keep this kind of intensity up close to last nights game!

An 0-2 start in the ACC would have been a 03-nutkick
I didn't have tickets but I got one for $30 outside. It was lower deck right below where Woody and the crew broadcasts. Supposedly I got on TV when they showed Woody.

I can tell you that we looked awesome. We were well prepped for the game and the guys brought it last night. I can't say enough about the individual performances, but what pleases me the most is how we are improving as a team. What I like most about our ball club is the fact that anyone can have a break out scoring game: Sean May, Raymond Felton, Rashad McCants, Jawad Williams can score 20+ on a given night. Melvin Scott, Jackie Manual, and David Noel can all capable of have 15+. We are going to be tough to beast if the guys continue to gell as a team and learn to keep the intensity up. I love it! This is what Carolina hoops is all about babeee! 04-drinky :D :saber:
