Remember when we owned these guys back in 90's? It seems like such a distant memory. For now, I'd just like to get a win....

We have to feed big Sean from the start in this one. He should be able to score against whomever is guarding him -- or at least draw a foul. And, from there we can work inside-out, hitting the open man for some uncontested shots (hopefully). It's the age-old gameplan, but I really think it holds true today.

On defense, I'm worried about State getting some easy layups on us. Their Princeton-style backdoor game could really hurt us if we overextend on defense like we're sometimes accustomed. I think we'll see a little bit of a trap from time to time -- State doesn't often have enough ballhandlers on the court to withstand a good trap. But, if they break the trap, it comes down to being patient with defense and forcing them into a bad shot. Roy has alluded to this plenty of times in his press conferences.

This will be the ultimate test because State is used to using up the entire shot clock to get a shot. They'll pass it around until they get a good look. When they face stellar defensive teams -- and get frustrated on offense -- their gameplan often breaks down and turns into Jules trying to force something by himself. We have to be patient and hope that we're able to force them into that.

Should be a good one. I expect a real tight game, maybe coming down to free throws (again). I hope they shoot a little worse from the line this year....

GO HEELS!
