Looks like the Blazer train is back on track again.

Still 4 minutes left, and UAB has all the waterboys in, so maybe USM can make it a little more respectable.

If Memphis plays like Southern Miss...UAB will likely win that game.

It is unlikely Memphis will resemble Southern Miss.

It will be fun playing in what will arguably be birmingham's biggest home game ever. They very likely will have near capacity (I know it is a sell out but there will be empty pockets for 830p start) and also the pressure to win. The carrot for a birmingham win? Getting into as opposed to being out of the tournament. The carrot for Memphis? A 1 instead of a 2 seed. Pleasant enough...but not quite the same (assuming no losses between now and then...which could happen...Tulane on the road, Houston and UTEP).

It will either be a raucous home court storm the court style dramatic crowd induced victory in their biggest home game ever for birmingham, or a workmanlike 12-15 point win by Memphis.

Hopefully it is a basketball game and not a 40 minute clutch and grab and see what you can get away with fest. That would be boring.

Memphis 83, birmingham 68.

First off, if you think there'll be any less than a sellout then you're crazy. There will be not one single seat available in the place. Bartow seats about 8,500 and there will be close to 9,500 at the game.

As for Memphis, because of the way this conference is, it's still questionable as to whether Memphis could get a #1 seed even with a win over us. And believe me... fighting for a BID to the tourney vs. fighting for a #1 seed is not comparable. We'll be far more motivated as our post-season may hinge on that game. For Memphis, it just supposedly would make the road a little easier with a 1 seed... I think UAB has more motivation there.

So you all win by 7pts AT Memphis after a below-average outing by UAB and you think you'll come down here and win by 15pts? Well I guess stranger things have happened, but dont hold your breath. The Vegas folks likely wont want to touch this game with a 10ft pole.

And another FYI... it likely would not be the biggest win at Bartow. It'd be on up there, but depending on the circumstances, it may or may not be our biggest win ever at Bartow.
Please name a bigger win in your past IF you were to upset the #3 team in the country with a 26-2 record?

There will be plenty of empty seats, and if not...then it is by far the biggest game ever for birminham. This is not a knock. I have been to several games in birmingham. There were always thousands of empty seats. If suddenly you are expecting a true overflow crowd for a game that begins at 830pm (even if it is against a great superior opponent road show) you cannot have it both ways and claim it is not the biggest home game ever. I know you are reluctant to extend that kind of respect to Memphis but ma'am, Memphis has earned it, and if they sweep their next two games (note the if...UTEP is very good and Tulsa could surprise) they will come to birmingham unquestionably as your biggest game ever. You are not a lesser birmingham fan for admitting that.

Stop coming to a Memphis board and getting all defensive and whiny.

Teams lose...fans say their team played below average. Memphis played poorly against birmingham last time. And won. Dominating down the stretch.

And ma'am...this is an internet message board. More specifically, this is a University of Memphis Tiger sports' message board. Why you let fan predictions get your panties wadded up is beyond me. I hope the fans of birmingham predict their kids to win. Of reading fan predictions of a game on another school's boad bothers you...do not read them. Or, keep spinning the birmingham loss in Memphis as though it was a win.

You blazer kids are the most envious bunch I have ever seen. You have a fine basketball team. Good enough to pull off the upset. Yet you still whine on OUR BOARD.

If you're going purely based on record and ranking, Memphis would be the best win at Bartow. But it will take a good bit to beat the atmosphere and energy we had in here when we beat #17 Cincinnati in 2004.

But even assuming it would be our biggest win at Bartow, how's that important? We've beaten more highly ranked teams than Memphis in recent years...just not at Bartow.

Wow... you think *this* is whining? Check out the UAB smack board with posts from Memphis fans and you'll see what true whining is.

You coming to the game March 2nd? I hope so. And I hope you get up to go the bathroom with noone to save your seat and you come back to find someone sitting in your seat. Know this... it's not whining, it's a fact. Games where there are "several thousand empty seats" are not games against #3 in America... they are not games against one of UAB's biggest rivals. We've had several games over the years where people are sitting on the stairs and standing in the concourse... do you think they'd be doing that if there were so many empty seats? Will an 8:30PM start reduce our attendance? Forget it. But I'll let you "win" for now and have your say... you'll see for your own eyes if you come to the game. Facts will speak for themselves. Have a nice day.

03-melodramatic

You upset Kentucky in the last minute of a second round tournament game.

That was it.

You can keep your lips on that teat as long as you like. Sooner than later it is going to run dry.

You appear more and more childlike not admitting this pending game will be the biggest ever for you kids in birmingham. Relax, admit it, go to the game, cheer like mad.

Or keep suckling the KY upset bosom. If I remember correctly birmingham lost thier next tourney game by about 40.
