Just wondering. I know pretty much squat about the school. I've just heard that they're joining the A-Sun and have a lot of potential.

Welcome! Should be an interesting year in basketball with a 12 team league.

Good to have a FGCU poster on here already! I'm impressed with the strides Gulf Coast has made in such a short history and I expect good things in a few years. I especially look forward to seeing how the Eagles do in hoops next year...particularly vs UNF and Upstate. I'm not expecting you to be the cellar dwellers!

I have a feeling that FGCU is going to hurt some feelings in men's and women's basketball next season.
How long before you guys are playing football and move to the Sun Belt with FAU/FIU?

Taking your time in other words. Probably not a bad thing. You guys will be top three in wbb, this is a VERY WEAK women's league. You'll be suprised on the men's side, size and depth will be what gets you around a mid-pack finish. It'll be funny watching you guys beat the holy crap out of Stetson and UNF.

I should be down at the Mercer @ FGCU game. Will be fun to see your facility and team first hand.

Yeah, it's not unusual for a program new to the A-Sun to struggle in men's hoops. I remember watching Belmont in their first season in the league. Their men's hoops team was well-coached, but their talent level clearly wasn't quite up to par at that time. That changed fairly quickly, though, and now they've made two NCAA appearances. Perhaps FGCU will make a similar quick improvement.

My first post on this site. Bradley fan here, and I am impressed with your program. I was afraid our team would not take you guys seriously and we did not. It was a one possession game in the closing minutes, but the Eagles missed several consecutive opportunities to close the gap that could've turned the game around.

Your program reminds me a little bit of A&M-Corpus Christi. . .a marketable school with a brief, but successful history and will be in the running for league championships and NCAA berths in short order.

It's great to see programs like yours make the right move to DI.

I would even like to see FGCU on our schedule again soon.
