As I said over at the Belmont board, the Runnin' Bulldogs are coming off a stunning victory and the Bruins are coming off a stunning defeat. I have some reluctance predicting a victory or anything close to that for tonight as a follow-up, but who knows when it comes to this league?

If the defense can play as well as it did on Thursday night, and hold the Bruins to a small number of 3's and less than 40% shooting from the field, then the Runnin' Bulldogs have a shot.

McPhee, Gash, Siddle, and Sanders need to be hitting tonight from the perimeter for Gardner-Webb to have a chance to compete.

Hopefully more than 850 people will show up for this game tonight as was the case on Thursday.
Gardner-Webb is just good enough to convince me at times that they are a halfway decent team. They were leading Belmont for 29 minutes last night, including building a lead of 14 points in the first half.

All upset hopes were derailed when the Runnin' Bulldogs went 11 minutes in the second half without converting a single FG. That's right: 11 minutes.

They allowed Belmont to shoot nearly 80% in the second half. That type of effort is simply unacceptable and should not be tolerated.

However, it is true that GWU has beaten Lipscomb, only lost by 3 to ETSU, and put a decent scare into Belmont. GWU pretty much plays to the level of their competition this year.

Jacksonville rolls into town on Thursday.
