Gardner-Webb got a crucial road win yesterday evening when they defeated Stetson 74-63 to move to 2-3 in the ASUN.

Chris Gash led all scorers with 18 points I believe. The stat of the game had to be that GWU shot 19-22 from the FT line in the second half. The Runnin' Bulldogs also converted 10 of their 21 attempts from beyond the arc.

This is a huge win for a team that has really struggled to even be competitive on the road this year. They get a major test tomorrow afternoon when they face Mercer in Macon, Georgia.

It is great to see a team that so many pundits felt would be one of the basement dwellers of the conference starting to show signs of life. With Belmont and Lipscomb awaiting later in the week, we will find out a lot about this team shortly.
Should be a good game tomorrow. We're coming off the high from that Campbell buzzer beater.
Mercer 85
G Webb 74 Final score

Mercer led by 9 at the half... G Webb brought it back to 6 points and 4 points at times in the 2nd half, but couldn't get any closer. Our freshmen James Florence had 33 points. Tough game for G Webb, they fought hard. Gash was held in check for the most part.

You guys started 3/5 for 3 pointers too. Then went on a long stretch and were 4/16 on 3's at the next made three.
They had to depend heavilly on the perimeter shot because of the injury to Matt French. I can't figure out what Rick Scruggs is doing with the rotation. He obviously knows way more about coaching than I do, but it seem to me that he is kind of erratic in how he uses the bench depth. Some games he plays seven guys, and some he plays ten.

In my humble opinion the Runnin' Bulldogs would be better off playing more people, because it is evident, especially after long road trips, that this team doesn't have the legs to sustain the shooting needed to beat teams like Mercer.

That guy Florence was kind of a chucker in the second half. He was effectice, but boy was he really looking hard for his shot.
^^you're coach sounds like coach ingle. i swear coach ingle has had at least 10 different starting lineups. i guess thats a good thing, saying all the players for the most part are young, makes me feel good about the future.
