Looks like a replacement for Nuckles. All seem like long shots, based on the other schools of interest. It would definitely be nice to land a quality big man.

No thoughts at all om Omar Wattad? If the boy gets a little meat on him, he could be a pretty good basketball player.

I have heard rumors that they have looked at him and scouted a game or two. Can anyone confirm. It would be nice to have a hometown kid on the team.

I think if he can develop a little more outside game he could be very Ben Rhoda like, maybe with more quickness. I've gotten to see him play alot, he's just small physically, in need to hit the weight room some.

I saw Wattad play in Arby's. I wasn't impressed at all.

Wattad is definitely mid major material. He will be a solid player. The Wiggins kid from Greeneville is definitely someone that ETSU shouls put the full court press on. That have to create some local goodwill by getting local kids other than Tara Byrne.

Someone from Johnson City was bragging at Arby's that Wattad was "going to sign with Kansas". Viewing him through that lens you can see why I wasn't impressed.

The general population in JC has no idea what a major D1 player looks like. Omar has potential to be a solid mid-major player. I think he has potential to a be a 1,000 point scorer. I know Chatt. has been on him and I think tha would be a good fit since Science Hill and Chatt run simialr systems.
However, I was shocked to talk with Hilary Scott at the Arby's and hear him tell me that they think Omar is a prototypical Big 10 2. I think that is a bit of a stretch. I just don't see him having hte ability to score consistently on defenders such as Shannon Brown and Luther Head.
They need to work Wiggins. Although, one of his assts. said he can't play at this level. HAHAHA

Rivals.com has Wiggins in the "Top 100" RECRUITS of 2007!!! I doubt it seriously if we could land him.

I know about Wiggins. I said on here months ago that I had talked with an Asst. coach who told me he could not play at this level. You always invest in the possibility of the hometown guy. I know he is not originally from here, but it is worth a shot.
