I saw a promo on WCYB today about a story being done on ETSU football. Is it being done in sports? Nah, it's in news, which is better anyway. Be sure to watch, and those not in the area, they archive their newscasts.
Did anyone see this report last night? What were everybody?s thoughts? I feel that Mr. Mullins truly does not care if football comes back, but hopefully the rest of the committee can overrule him. The sooner football comes back the better. Did anyone notice in the report they made the statement of removing seats from the dome? I feel if we prove we can make football come back, the Socon will take us back. If you did not see the report from last night here is the link, it does require real player. (It is the very first topic)

It was a great story, love the fact that they went live and LEAD with it over the boating tragedy this past weekend, a house fire and a drug arrest.
The piece was well done, though I would have liked to have seen it go more in depth in terms of Title IX stuff, and what REALLY could happen. Maybe someone on here might get motivated and email the powers that be at WCYB with some good information about that, and maybe get a follow up on it. There are "experts" on that subject all over the place.
Actually, after seeing that I realize I had forgotten that Johnson City was totally made up of goobers.

No wonder I don't fit in. I speak english.

Anyway, the main thing I ask is lets say they take out some seats for fire codes.

Why could football not play there in the interim in a, say, 8000 seat Memorial Center? How would that violate fire codes?

This fire codes stuff sounds really fishy. For years I was told that's why they couldn't have concerts there (that, and some unnamed wacko's theory that the accustics in the Down Home were so great that Johnson City was therefore too sophisticated to enjoy a concert in a large venue- HUH?), and then Ludicrus came to town.
Ludicus performing in the Dome is not relevant to any agrument pro or con about the acoustics there.

The firecode stuff happened post 9/11. Kind of an odd thing, but I guess for basketball they aren't worried because ETSU hasn't came close to filling it up like that again.
