It's real easy to pat ourselves on the back, but I want you to look at the hits we're getting on here and the hits they're getting over there on a topic by topic basis.
We are really beginning to take the lead in terms of numbers of posts.
It's been my style to brag to the point of making people vomit and call myself brilliant- so let's get that out of the way.
I used to always say that I had the most modest of forums and yet got the most discussion of anyone in the Tri-Cities media- and wasn't even there!
You look at the demise of Sports Talk and the hits I'm getting here, and I think there's something to be said for that.
However, I don't want this to be yet another pat myself on the back session (there's a switch, huh?).
As objectively as I can, it seems to me that the reason we are getting ahead over here is simply the UNCG board is dominated by two posters- thedoctor and MommaBear- who are incredibly condescending and boring.
When is thedoctor going to get it that we care about as much as what he has to say as we do about the poetry of Maya Angelou?
Let's not forget that kettle of fish! Oh, God. You would have thought I said I didn't know who George W. Bush was!
But while thedoctor is the epitome of the traditional "I am never wrong" college professor, MommaBear is the epitome of the disgruntled fired employee.
And we know her firing was bogus but still.
Again, I'm sorry, but these statistics she always pulls up aren't really that informative. In fact, nobody is going to pour through the pages of stats she gives us. By now, we don't even know what the stats are trying to prove.
But here, we get it. We have some humor, we have some give and take, and we also know the demise of ETSU sports comes from a cultural agenda that deep down inside thedoctor and MommaBear know they have always been a part of.
And then there IS my brilliance, but, I digress.
The question of the day is- why do you think this board has become THE board to talk ETSU sports in only a few months?
