Now, BucDoctor, do you HONESTLY believe they've raised that much money?

There's no way in the world.

The figure given to you is TWICE AS MUCH as Hillary Clinton has raised to run for Senate in New York in 2006 and the Presidency in 2008.

Now, just figure this out. If they had- and I'll list the figure you gave me- $35 million- don't you think there would be some sort of financial disclosure form or something?

I WOULD HOPE SO!

People speak highly of Jerry Robertson- but I don't think he has raised twice what Hillary Clinton can for a Presidential campaign.
There's about as much truth to that as the chances of the MBB team going to the Final Four next year.
I also heard that the foundation was close to wooing Jeff Fisher away from the Titans to coach any new ETSU football team.

Yeah...that's the ticket.
Sounds like the Buc Football Foundation has ties with the Mafia. 05-mafia
Do you now see why I'm so skeptical about the Football Foundation?

For that matter, when you DO consider that ETSU feels it can raise more money every year for the next decade than Hillary Clinton has for athletics alone, the same skepitism should be shared by one and all about their projects as well.
Hell if they have ties to the Gotti Family then if we ever get football back we would win every game and if we did happen to lose a hitman would be sent out to "take out" the opposing coach.
Just a few questions.....how come I have never received anything in the mail as an alum from this foundation? I receive everything else regarding ETSU and other ETSU fund drives. Seems to me contacting all the alums would be the first on the things to do list. What little I do know of those furious with the admin's decision to drop football was that they never contacted those that went to school there before they did it. Yet the foundation is doing the same...or at least seems to be.
Well, you could say that Kim is something of a hit man, seeing as how she brags on getting people banned from message boards then has this signature-

"If there be time to expose through discussion the falsehood and fallacies, to avert the evil by the processes of education, the remedy to be applied is more speech, not enforced silence."

And the thing is- she isn't even forthcoming about the Foundation. We'd ask her stuff and she would say "It's being run by TOP MEN!" and nothing more.

I feel like I'm in the last scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

You go to the website and see what is going on at their next meeting.

The agenda is "Where Do We Go From Here?"

This does not sound like an organization with a mission. This has every appearance of an organization taking my money to play golf.

Well, here, I'll tell you where you go from here.

You are not going to be able to raise $224 million. Neither will ETSU.

By the way, if you CAN raise $224 million- forget about ETSU and Division I-AA football. I want you to bring an NFL team to Johnson City.

So, what you have to do is get into the war. You have to bash the administration. Tell them a pharmacy school is just going to make more Tennessee kids autistic (and there's some truth to that).

Show a scoreboard on your website- how many schools have added football vs. how many have dropped it since 2003 on your sight.

Don't be afraid to use terms like "Paul and Dave's liberal cultural agenda to take away football for soccer." That'll go over REAL WELL in Johnson City.

Do not promote current ETSU teams. Stay away from them like the plague and encourage everyone else to as well. Fred Warren is not a friend of the athletic dept- he is a friend of golf and can be painted as such.

You have crowds of 500 people at ETSU men's basketball games, people are going to realize real quick they need to take out Mullins for a football friendly AD.

Sad to say, this is where a guy like Jerry Robertson might not be your best choice as a leader. You know he's going to have a tough time bashing the University he once loved.

Above all- keep it short, clear, and concise. Kim is fond of using these long documents that seem to say "I know what I'm talking about" but nobody else has any idea.

Saying- "The Atlantic Sun travel costs more than football ever did"- resonates. Showing us the five page document does not.

Finally, this can be done with very little money. I think I would be very skeptical of giving my money to, say, build a football stadium where I don't want it built (Blountville) without a program in place.

I would say that if you actually do ever revive the program, you could play at a temporary venue (Tusculum? Back to Memorial Center?) for the amount of time it would take to build a new yard.

Boston University actually has an organization like the Foundation (it too does nothing) called BTUFF (Boston Terriers United For Football). BU killed their football program in the 90s. They used to play at Nickerson Field- which actually was the remodelled field the Boston Braves used to play at.

But at least they're non-profit!
Allegedly, and I don't know if there's truth here but I had always heard that they can't get their hands on the list of alumni. It's funny, I talked to some yesterday and the mentality is simple, with the exception of VERY FEW things, the way things were run here as such that they won't ever give to this school.
Right now as a soon to be alum, and as much as I believe in academics and intercollegiate athletics, I don't know if I'll give to this university or not.
The pharmacy school was a good idea pitt, nobody would have ever even cared about the idea had football not been dropped. Same as that stupid clock tower.
Pharmacy School means Big Medicine.

And for all the talk of the problems with Big Oil, Big Wal-Mart, Big Tobacco, Big Government, and Big Beer- the fact nobody even mentions the evils of Big Medicine is nausiating.

The links between pharmacy and autism are there. The fact the industry does very little about it while innocent kids are having their lives ruined speaks volumes about the morality of Big Medicine.
And Big Butts.
Now- THAT is the worst Big of them all!

I mean, if we had no Big Butts, we'd have no Sir Mix A Lot.

And the world would therefore be a better place.
I tend to agree. Small is good. Kinda like our girl Kimberly Sams.
hmmm...conspiracy theorists abound.

This string is really starting to sound CrAzY!

Maybe that amount and "foundation" were confused with this amount and "foundation"....

They are nitpicking the amount on the other board, but the fact of the matter is perception is reality.

And while ETSU makes such announcements, the foundation does not refute them publicly but instead goes and plays golf.
Do they even know how to play golf?
