This was a popular topic a few years back- and while in theory you can (you can be an Army and a Navy fan if you want to be)- the question is if it's responsible or not.

It seems like a good topic to resurrect after the baseball games.

I will say it seems like it's a little more feasible because now what's going to happen if you drive to Knoxville and buy a ticket for them from a scalper? Destroy the ETSU football program?

But, then again, you would be getting in bed with the monster who helped push the local team off the cliff.

Out of curiosity- how much orange was in Cardinal Park the other day? Were there more ETSU or UT fans there?
You can be a fan of more than one team. You could have more than one degree, or employment in the past for example. Or you could have relatives playing for more than one team.

Having said that, I pull for ETSU whenever they play UT or Wake Forest in my case of the above.

ETSU's problems are mostly self inflicted.

I didn't have a chance to go to the game. I too wondered how many UT fans were there. I would have had my blue and gold on for sure if I had gone.

Now being an ex-Navy guy, I would NEVER pull for Army to beat Navy, but I do pull for Army when they play Air Force in honor of my dad who were the uniform during the Korean War. 04-rock
Apparently you can be an ETSU and a UT-C fan, what is the difference? Apparently you can be a BIG ETSU and UT-C fan. Who would have thought that?
Back in ETSU's glory basketball days with Mr. and company I had a client that had been a season ticket holder for UT basketball for years. When ETSU came down and manhandled UT in TBA, after the game he said that was one of the most exciting teams he had seen. He said he could become a fan of ETSU and would start following them more closely. So yes, you can be a fan of both...and it goes both ways. Of course this was arguably during the worst times ever for UT basketball with Wade Houston. Now, nearly 16 years later it is scary to think just how good UT basketball can be with the recruits and coaching it has. So with that said, does anyone think we will start to loose our basketball fanbase to UT's success and ETSU's failures? I think we play them again in the fall. And it could be even more ugly than this past year's meeting.
I never knew Tennessee basketball fans even existed when Houston was there, and really Don DeVoe as well.

I mean consider even Bill Meade's favorite college basketball team is Duke.
They averaged around 10 thousand a game at Stokely in the Devoe era, then when that hell hole cavern got built that serves no real purpose, the roof isn't even strong enough to hold up major props for concerts, the fans quit coming. The experience at TBA STINKS. If you're not sitting on the floor or in the first fifteen rows of the lower deck, stay at home, you see more on TV...
