We beat #10 Missouri in baseball 3
Gee, I remember early in the Ed DeChellis era when a game with Belmont was a December tune-up and wasn't regarded as a challenge.

I'm not so sure it was a great day for Bucs basketball.

Baseball, though, got to give it credit. As much as I hate to say this the move to the A-Sun, which is one of the best conferences in baseball, has the chance to improve that program a lot.
Point taken on the Basketball, I agree. I think the move to the A-Sun will help in Golf as well. I am looking forward to the games against Ken. State this year. They have a very good program and it will probably be my best chance at seeing the BUCS this spring.

Since we seem to have the year 88 in common, do you remember when we were freshmen (I think), the Bucs were ranked in football for part of that year?

Thats amazing you can remember something so untrue. We played Belmont once when DeChellis was here, his last year so it sure wasn't early in the DeChellis era and we beat them 71-61, hardly a blowout. It was in the South Florida holiday tournament we played in that year.
But don't let the facts get in your way of trying to slam ETSU Pitt.
I am positive in some year in the late 90s- possibly 2000 or 2001 but unlikely- ETSU hosted Belmont in December.

I do not have a media guide in front of me, but if someone does, I'd appriciate it if they would check it out.
Will try and search the net. All I recall off the top of my head is the Belmont game Rod is referring too. It was a close game.

This will be the fifth meeting between Belmont and ETSU, with the Buccaneers capturing each of the previous four encounters. The last time the two clubs collided was on Dec. 6, 1999 when East Tennessee State escaped Striplin Gymnasium with an 88-80 victory.

Well a little more info.
Sorry I just remembered that last game but we did play them 3 times under DeChellis.
We won at the Dome during the
98-99 Season 96-85
At thier place 88-80
and the game I mentioned on a netural court 71-61.

So where are those blowouts Pitt?
http://www.belmont.edu/athletics/mensbas..._index.htm

Here is the basketball history of Belmont, Pitt.
So, let's see here-

I'm refuted with unfactual information, told I'm stupid, and then someone tries to make a point with something I didn't say (though I would say none of those games I accurately referred to were really close).

Yeah, that's about right for Rod Shaw.

The amazing thing is he's a private eye.

"I have some bad news, Mrs. Smith. Your suspicions are true. Your husband has been cheating on you. These pictures prove it."

"Oh, dear! SOB! Let me see . . . Wait a minute! This isn't my husband!"

"Oh, really? I'm sorry. I guess he's been faithful then. Two hundred dollars and expenses, please!"
Say what you want Pitt but wins by 11,8 and 10 are not blowout tune up games. Now winning by 29 or so is a blowout game verus a cupcake.

Buccaneers get by Belmont, earn shot at South Florida

Tiras Wade and the East Tennessee State University Buccaneers got a mulligan Saturday in Tampa, Fla. in the form of a matchup with Belmont. And that
Hey, Sherlock-

WHERE ON THIS THREAD DID I SAY THOSE GAMES WERE BLOWOUTS??????????

Really, how is that private eye business doing?

I'm guessing not too good.

Gee to me tune games that aren't a challenge are games where you blow someone out and let your walkon and scrubs play. All of the games againist Belmont were close games that did indeed pose a challenge.
Do I really need to make yet ANOTHER point that a high percentage of ETSU fans are satisfied with mediocrity?

Eleven point games are real barnburners.

Spoken like a true Seattle Seahawks fan.
