Someone was asking in the thread below where CAA fit within the baseball world. These are the conference RPIs as of 4/15 - 2005 conference alignments, obviously.

Wow... I knew A-Sun had gotten off to a strong start, but I didn't know we were that strong!
Yep, been flip-flopping with CUSA for the 6th spot for a month or two now.
So do you mean that those standings have UCF in C-USA, GSU in the CAA and Troy in the Sunbelt?

No offense to our conference, but it's not the 6th best conference in the country...and if the top 3 teams are not included - then that number is as bogus as they come.

I'll wait for the exaplanation though!
No. I meant that it's current configuration, so all those teams are in the ASUN.

It may not be the sixth, but it's not any worse than 8th. It's been in the 6-8 range all year.

Current pRPI ranks:

39 UCF
46 Stetson
59 Georgia State
80 Belmont
82 Florida Atlantic
84 Mercer
88 Troy
93 Jacksonville
94 Campbell
105 Lipscomb
147 Gardner-Webb

That's 9 teams in the top 100 - only the SEC has more (12). The Big 12 and CUSA have 8.

And what really helps the average is that even G-W is just barely out of the top half of D1.

Record vs other conferences:

Wow, I wouldn't have seen that one coming. Thanks JPK!
With the conference rated so high, how many teams might get an at-large bid? I guess it depends on who wins the conference tournament.
If the season were over today, it would likely be 2, 3 if one of the top 2 did not win the tournament.

But what's good is that the more conference games you play, the better the RPI will get 'cause there's no real RPI-killers on the conference schedule.

So... by the time it really IS selection Sunday, there's a chance that could be 3 or 4 instead of 2 or 3.
JPK can you add a link to your website in your profile or signature?
First day here. We'll see if this works like I think it should.

OK, it does.

All the stats and standings stuff is on the link on the side labeled "SE Central".
