Our society obviously enjoys college basketball more then college baseball. It's reflected in every way on the national scene. I think that while I enjoy that I can boast the conference's track record in baseball much easier than I can in basketball, it doesn't really change the big picture. UCF has a Top 25 baseball team, but I enjoy going to Golden Knights basketball games more than baseball. Higher scoring, more personality and emotion displayed on each play, the game doesn't come down to a pitcher having a bad night...general attitude of players. I have yet to see a player pull on his schools logo on his jersey after a home run the way that a basketball player does. Basketball has cheerleaders, bands, dance teams, mascots etc. Baseball is just a different animal...and it's sort of less fan friendly - especially to college students.

Getting back to the national level, I think if players actually had to go to college, and then went right from college to the majors people would follow both college and pro more closely. Each sports fans would attract the others. UCF has I think 19 alumni in pro baseball, but only one is on a team that I can name.

Just some quick thoughts. I voted for basketball, and when I did, I saw everyone else had too.
