I mean seriously if you want to lob personal attacks at everyone who is politically left of the current administration maybe you should find a conservative blog, and not taint WMU with your political ideology. If you want to discuss current events that is fine, but this childish whining about all things liberal doesn't need a daily update on this board from Chipdip or his alter ego connerito. It is a real turn off to alot of people and provides unecessary contention among supporters of the same athletic program. I would prefer not to know everybodys personal politics, and I would prefer that these political arguments weren't crowding this board every day. There are people who visit this board who won't want to post here when they have to go through pages of this low level discussion. There are plenty of conservative blogs if you are tired of the off season lull in WMU activity. We don't need a thread a day on what liberals are up to, at least not here.

I expected a flood of "if you don't like it don't read or respond." I didn't think it would be portrayed as me not agreeing. If you are so pro everyone having an opinion then you shouldn't have a problem with me expressing mine. My opinion is that this is not the appropriate place to have these kinds of discussions and I think it makes WMU look bad, and keeps more traffic from coming here to talk WMU/MAC sports after they check it out.

It has nothing to do with right or wrong it has to do with proper place for a discussion and the atmosphere of the board.
This so illustrates what happens on every university campus in this country. They dont want open dialogue on political issues, so they try to quell it. This even illustrates what the left says about Global Warming. The debate is over, right.

Dip I am not a university administrator or some kind of ivory tower big wig. This is america and you are entitled to your beliefs no matter what I think of them. I have no political agenda outside of living my belief system.
I wouldn't want to ignore you because I do enjoy discussing sports with you, and I'm sure in another foremat I would enjoy talking world affairs. What concerns me is that this board gets inandated with threads that are devisive and agenda driven, and it is a turn off to people who would like to talk Bronco sports. We don't need the kind of debate that is the result of leading and politicaly partisan threads. If we know each others political ideologies it spoils some of the fun of the discussions that we have. It makes this place unattractive to newbies, and it would be better to have it in a different forum than one associated with WMU. Message boards have a way of getting cliquie and we have an athletic department that needs to be attracting new fans. A board that degenerates into political rants is not attractive to people who like to talk sports as a release from those issues and problems.

I'm sure I'll be called all sorts of names and put on ignore lists, but I have to agree to an extent with Liam. I tend to reply to posts from the usual suspects and rarely start a thread in response to masses of right wing lunacy, but there is a "Spin Room" that was set up for this discussion. I realize it's off season from the premiere sports. However, I'm finding it a lot easier to stay away from the board for much longer periods of time than normal. I think it's really taking away from the sense of "Bronco Community" when this type of thing happens.

I can't backpeddle away from something I never claimed. I never said my opinion was the only one that counted. I don't know why it is considered "crying like a baby," to ask someone to keep their ideological rants off of the Bronco sports board. I have never started one of these useless threads in my life. I believe that if you ever speak up about the way certain people conduct themselves on this board you are going to take abuse. That isn't really a big deal.

If Chipdip is frustrated with not having anything to attack CMU about, and needs something to do then he should find a right wing blog instead of the WMU message board for his musings.
If Moe would like to do something constructive for a change instead of letting another board go down the drain from Chipdips flood of similar threads then please get a spin room going or some other place where CD can run free without the entire board getting into ideological arguments every day or so. That is unless we want to be talking to the same handful of people about the same subjects until we move to the next board.

Today Washington takes a dollar and sends back pennies in services, with most of it being eaten up administratively. It's never going to change, but if more of those dollars stayed home and were spent at the state and local level, the bang for the buck would be huge.
The Bushites-father and son-have destroyed the Republican party. The good thing is there is a major landswell of reform minded Republicans ready to purge the Bush wing and the Neocons from the party. To bring the party back to it's fiscal conservative roots.
