First of all, I am a Chicago Bear fan before an NIU fan.

I f***ing love Garrett Wolfe. I am a straight man, but I would have his babies. You don't even realize what he has done for NIU.

Yet, I am wondering why he was drafted by the Bears in the 3rd round. I bet Garrett would have been in the 5th, maybe the 6th if we would have left him.

While, I am absolutely extastic that the Bears got him, I also believe that Benson and Peterson will be able to pick up the slack. I also believe Hester should continue to take the Kicks and Punts. So, I really don't understand where Wolfe fits in. Like I said, I want to have Wolfe's babies, yet I don't understand why the Bears took him in the 3th. The O-Line's average is about 80 years old, and we need some WR love.

With all of the said, Wolfe is going to prove everyone wrong. Last year, Wolfe took a 250lb LB and powerbombed the guy once he tried to wrap Garrett up. I am confident that Wolfe will prove the scouts wrong, and he will be the next Warrick Dunn. He is just absolutely exciting to watch.... I'm just not sure where he fits in here, and I'm sure the Bears could have fit another need with this pick.
I was also surprised he went that early, I think most of us were. But he had a really good workout at Halas Hall, and I think the Bears feel they know what they're getting. Plus his attitude and work ethic fit in well so they think they're not taking that much of a risk. I would have guessed the Bears could have waited another round or two, but maybe they had reasons to believe Wolfe wouldn't be there for 2 more rounds.
One of the many very special aspects of his career at NIU and selection is what a great person he is and the football poster of a student -citizen-athlete.
Suggested he'll play some in the slot along with catching passes out of the backfield; something he would do better then both Peterson and Benson. That's where he fits in.
The only thing that worries me about him being used as a receiver is that the QB has to look over a tall O-line and find a guy that's 5.7" and is probably not very far downfield so it seems like he wouldn't be that easy to find. He's a small target.

i really dont know about wolfe playing the slot receiver position on a regular basis, except maybe as a decoy. This guy is going to do just fine running the ball, i guarantee it. Another thing he could be is our version of reggie bush, catching tons of passes out of the backfield, and hed be great to run some screens..he'll definitely bust a few of those, and raise grossman's stats and confidence ;-)
