Well people who is it? 05-stirthepot
Notre Dame
I figured a Reds fan such as yourself would vote for Florida Atlantic. ;-)
Of that group, Texas A&M, hands down.
easy choice....

TAM

with them its a religion...literally....with the others it is just an obsession.
how do you define BEST?
passionate?
rabid?
over the top?
obnoxious?
respectful like Bama?

Show up evey game, every season regardless of W/L records and cheer like hell?

{Is this a poll exclusive to 2006 season or for all years' past since 1900?}

In that definition - I vote Army and Navy every year.

The list of nominees is woefully short and is FAU simply your idea of a bad joke? Hell, ten years ago NIU could have been your mock vote.

IMO Most major teams in South trump most major teams in North . It's a religion AND also a sport south of M-D line.

Exactly, there is no way to define the best, this was meant to show why MD02's baseball fan poll was bull.
I think Nebraska is the best, but out of the group on that list I would say A&M.
Gonna have to agree with TAMU off that list.
I say Texas A&M because it was established as an all-male military college. Texas A&M remained a primarily all-male military institution with mandatory membership in the Cadet Corps unil 1963, when Corps membership became voluntary and the school also began admitting women.

Military men are typically "joiners" who are loyal and gung-ho. Imagine how those military veteran alumni of A&M must love their Aggies and support them to the hilt. These aren't the kind of people to "go home" on the weekends or sit on their dorm floor playing video games while there is a home game happening within walking distance.

Notre Dame fans are blow hards. Many never even went to school there.

Michigan fans are arrogant. Again, lots of network fans who aren't even from the STATE of Michigan, let alone went to school there.

Ohio State fans are a rabid, motley crew - I put them ahead of ND and Michigan for sure.
Alabama is conspicuously missing from that list. Same with Texas and USC.

I have to give special credit to schools like Oklahoma, Nebraska, Alabama & Auburn, South Carolina and Clemson. Why? What do these states have in common? None of them have major cities with NFL franchises. In Nebraska, for example, that's all they have! No professional baseball, basketball or football teams to root for in their state. Therefore, they get behind their state team (even if they didn't go to school there) and back em. You gotta respect that.
Gotta be tOSU.

Living in Central Ohio I get a huge dose of their fans. You would not believe the support they get when they travel to their bowl games etc. People schedule weddings, vacations, funerals and business meetings carefully to avoid the games.

It is nice that PJ had some exposure to the program.

USC's fans aren't exactly in the upper-tier of college football, unless you are talking about South Carolina, who has better fans than the West Coast version.

Texas also has great fans, but off the list, TAMU is head and shoulders above everybody else.

The list was a few schools off the top of my head and then FAU put in there to mock MD putting the Reds in the baseball poll. You are all taking this too seriously.

Perhaps you are not taking it serious enough!!! When you put a poll together, you have to think about it carefully. Otherwise, the rogues in the crowd will shred you.
I can not believe NIU did not make the list.

Well most of their fans come out even when they are losing, which therefore makes them bad fans. lmfao
Having been to Coumbus last year, I can't imagine any better fans than Buckeye fans!
