Kentucky defeated Ball State this evening at Worthen Arena 85-82 in the WNIT 2nd round. A loud and enthusiastic crowd of 3,581 saw the Cards make a spirited comeback after trailing by 9 with a little more than 3 minutes to play. They cut the lead to 2 and had the Wildcats on the ropes. When Kentucky missed the 2nd of two free throws and led by 3 with 6 seconds to play, Ball State got the rebound and raced down the court with a chance to tie the game and send it to overtime. But they failed to get off a shot before the buzzer sounded and their fine season was over. The Cards tied a school record with 24 wins this year against 7 losses.

A very good season for the Lady Cards. 04-bow Nice size crowd for the game too.
It was a blast. The women's crowd is a different animal. They bring signs and are really animated.

They lose their senior point guard but bring back all the key players on the team.

I saw Ronnie Thompson there last night. I hope he saw 1) what team basketball looks like and 2) what excitement from the crowd can look like also
