Jaguars | Sharon charged with stealing gun
Mon, 12 Mar 2007 07:37:07 -0800

The Associated Press reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Charles Sharon was charged with grand theft of a firearm and carrying a concealed firearm after Tampa authorities found a handgun under the seat of his sport utility vehicle during a drug-related search Saturday, March 10. Sharon and a companion were arrested after a police officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle, according to a police report. A search of the vehicle turned up a Glock Model 27 handgun under the driver's seat that had been reported stolen from a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent in Putnam County last year, the report said. Sharon was released Sunday, March 11, after paying a $4,000 bond. Sharon is the fourth Jaguars player to be arrested since the start of the 2006 season.

Technically, I think he's only been charged with stealing the one gun ;-)
Geesh. First pizza, now this. ;-)
The Jaguars appear to be following the Cincinnati Bengals' blueprint for success.

Well RF, sorry to disappoint :moon2: you again, but weapons charges against Sharon have been dropped and it looks like he may actually make the Jaguars roster.

Sharon has big opportunity

No one is disappointing me and it doesn't surprise me. Pizza, guns, dropped charges twice. He's a smart guy! 03-lmfao

Please tell me you're not so naive as to believe that Sharon is innocent when a cop who smelled weed searched his car and found a gun stolen in the Bowling Green area at the time Sharon was living in Bowling Green. How do you suppose a gun stolen from a federal agent in the Bowling Green area ended up under Sharon's seat in Florida?
I really hope this is the last headline like this about Chuck.

He needs to start catching passes and not catching hell. Hopefully, he'll "get it" after this incident.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty? The guy had his charges dropped. If he was guilty he wouldn't have had the charges dropped. Period.

Hey, Drew, just dropped in from reading an AZZ thread about Scooter after HIS charges were dropped. Couldn't agree with you more. Both of these guys are innocent as newborn babes and the dropped charges prove it! ;-)
McDougle is innocent until proven guilty. That's a problem with our justice system: everyone assumes guilt.

Guilty people get the charges dropped all the time. Sometimes innocent people are found guilty too. To think otherwise would be very naive.
If the pipe doesn't fit, you must acquit.

And yet our prison industry is thriving! :bean:

Read the next sentence: Sometimes innocent people are found guilty too. Further, "guilty people get the charges dropped all the time" is not the same as, "all guilty people get the charges dropped." Personally, I smell payola here.
