As I posted on the KSU board, I believe this was a huge year for Coles. Not that he is going anywhere, but he was beginning to lose his luster. Before this year, his teams had not made a MAC final since 2001 and had been beaten by a lower seed every year but 2004 since that time.
This year, Coles lived up to his reputation as a coach nobody wants to face with the season on the line.
I should edit because I did not realize he was a #7 in '02, but losing early in '03, '05 and '06 were all disappointing and ironically all to OU.
