Of course being a band guy and seeing most of the bands, I have to pose the question. Trying to be as unbiased as possible I have to say that when it came to cheering and supporting the team no pep band was better than NIU. Playing wise of the bands I saw it was either NIU or WMU that had the best band.
Oh and to anyone that saw that tenor sax player from NIU that had body paint on, but should not have had his shirt off, that was me 04-rock
I have to post here that every year, this included, Ohio's band blows the doors off all the others in the building. Always prepared .. always together .. always good. Props to the Bobcat Band.

04-rock

Oh .. and the OU dance team does more situps than the rest of the conference combined. ;-)

I wish I would have had a chance to see them. I met a couple of them in the hotel and while they were definitely not the nicest group of people, I'm sure they can really play.

Uh, I'll venture. I don't know if they announced it there, but the Miami University Dance Team is the #4 ranked team in the nation.

That's an NDA ranking, which is the only Dance organization recognized by the NCAA, and as such makes that #4 an NCAA ranking.

I'm sorry but there is no way that the NIU pep band is worse than KSU. We played in the same game as them and it wasn't even close. We played better MUCH better than them, and we were more vocal in cheering. It was not even a contest.

One thing NIU is always given credit for is being the most vocal in terms of cheering.

Ok - see, this is where threads like these go from fun and interesting to "Oh, this is why they call them band dorks."

You asked a question. If you don't like the answer next time you should probably just post: "Hey! Everyone come see how good I look!"

From one band guy to another - stop giving us a bad name, mmkay?
