Just got word on press row that Toledo's Keonta Howell suffered a fractured foot at the end of the EMU game is out. Tough break.
Yeah, our leading scorer for the season. If we can somehow win this tournament with all of the adversity we have gone through this year and now our leading scorer out it will be a miracle.
That sucks....

Diversity? ;-)

Yeah, that sucks. Lucky for UT that they have the most depth and the best "team" so you never know. Good luck!!

Diversity - the condition or result of being changed

Our basketball team has gone through a lot of changes. Allen Pinson no longer on the team. Haris Charalambous passing away. Starting the season 4-8 with our coach on the hot seat. Now losing our leading scorer and one of our senior leaders on the team to a broken foot. These are all things that have changed the course of the season for us and made it quite diversed.

I'd say adversity is probably the better word

This is the proper answer.

Rough break for Toledo...no pun intended.
Adversity is a great word for the situation and probably what most would use. Doesn't mean you can't use the word diversity though. I'm not like most people, so you got to expect diversity from me. 03-thumbsup
No mention of this from any official source as far as I can tell. Nothing said in post game notes or interviews. I haven't heard anyone connected with the team say anything.
So far it's just somebody said that somebody said.
I bet Miami will prepare for Howell until they see him in a cast.

Post-game Joplin said that Howell would try to play. Of course that was before the x-rays and they found out he fractured his foot.

Toledo will NEVER say anything official about an injury. People should know that after this last football season. UT does not disclose injuries and are not required to by the NCAA......HIPPA makes it pretty hard to do that and UT's policy is to not talk about specifics unless the student-athlete himself is the one talking about it.
If he is out, that is really unfortunate for him and the team. You work very hard all year just for these games. He is a key component to the Rocket offense.

Though I'm sure Charlie Cole won't be surprised if it's overblown and Howell plays. (Stan: "It wasn't as bad as we first thought and we couldn't keep him off the court!")
Can't snooker Charlie! ;-)
Just one more major hurdle for the Rockets to overcome in their "season of adversity." With the way the Rockets have played this season, I would find it hard to bet against them - but that is assuming that Miami doesn't shoot 60% again.......
Perhaps Gilligan or the Skipper can fill in for Mr. Howell's absence?
Believe it or not, Howell is going to try to play tonight. I'm not sure if he can help us running on a bad foot. Heck, how can he even run at all? I'm not expecting him to be able to play if he does indeed have a fracture like they are saying.

=>Reminds me of Miami-BUGS football in 2005. Omar Jacobs played....and the mother #^%@$* played well. 03-weeping

That's the late word that I have. He is going to give it a try. I will watch during pregame warmups and let you know what I see....

I hate to be wrong! Dammit!
Well, he looked good in warmups...
For what it's worth, Howell is listed on the starting lineup sheet.

Tip-off is a few moments away.
Yep, Howell is playing. It seems our rumors were not so good this time around.

OhioVarsity - are you here at the game? Where are you sitting?
To make up for may bad reporting, I am posting scoring updates on the homepage of MAC Report Online...
