I am very optimistic for the Ramsey era and for next season. Provided the players improve over the course of their careers, i see no reason why we shouldn't contend for the MAC Championship in 2 years.

I genuinely like all players on the team, and that is something I have never been able to say before.

All of the little steps that you would look for in an obvious rebuilding year (tourney win, beating rivals, road wins, personnal awards) were achieved. I love the team and coaching staff. Hopefully there will be a push to get students to the games next season.
I would have liked to see how we would have ended up with a healthy Medlock all year long-but that didn't happen. One of the needs for this team is a backup point guard. Is Frazier the answer there, I don't know. Axon exceeded expectations and Dumes had good games but based on the number of turnovers they are not the point guards to push this team in the win column. And actually Medlock is a point guard by default.

Dobbins and Dumes have potential but definitely works in progress to get where Bowdry already is. Bunkley was definitely a suprise. I would say that Gay, Matthews, Freer, Dodd and Serbia all contributed at various times during the year or where in the rotation. Lewis does very well at hoops lets hope it carries over to the football field. All the players got playing time and we will return a very experienced team next year.

I'm not sure that Skipper is going to put anyone of the starting lineup. Cooper is a question mark. Is Fox going to follow Lewis' example and play both sports?

We have one scholie left-we do not have to hit a home run, we just need to get a solid MAC prospect. Almost any position would be okay.

Rams and his staff did a good job this year both in recruiting and coaching.
And yes kicking Gino off the team was a good move.

This is the best thing about next year's team - freshmen will not have to start! Next year's newcomers will be able to find a role a reserve and learn the college game without having as much responsibility.

Why wait 2 years??? Actually I think EMU's chances are better next year than 2 years from now. If everone comes back, next years team will have 6 seniors (Axon, Lewis, Freer, Matthews, Bunkley, and Serbia). That's a lot of experience combined with a talented group of juniors, sophmores, and freshmen. In 2 years EMU will have a good core of upperclassmen but they'll also have about 5 newcomers.

If the EMU team can make the necessary improvements in the offseason and get good support from next years freshmen (getting a great recruit with that last scholarship would be nice) I see no reason why they can't at least compete for the MAC West Championship next season. Toledo loses their top 3 scorers so they'll have a hard time repeating. NIU might have a new coach and should struggle. CMU and BSU lose very little and should be improved but I think EMU is better. WMU is the team to watch as they appear to have everyone coming back. They might have an edge on EMU right now but the gap is very small.

Serbia? That's Banjanin! Show a little respect and get the man's name right.

I know I had a much more interesting time at the Convo and a lot more fun this year than I've had in the several previous years I've been a season/combo ticket holder. I felt there was a significant chance of a win every time I went into the Convo. It didn't always work out but there was always the possibility. I'm looking forward to next season already.
