Your press box looks nice, but that's about it.

I don't know what you're bragging about.

The picture you are linking to is very old.........has to be 2000 or older because it is the old turf. The Glass Bowl is considered one of the top two or three stadiums in the MAC. Last year we added a 2nd scoreboard, over on the south end zone side. The scoreboard on the north end zone side has a video scoreboard, which was the first to be installed in the MAC back in 1999.

...by whom? Or is that just an opinion of a Toledo fan?

I hear the Youngstown people say the same thing about their stadium..and that's laughable.

what a hole. lmfao lmfao

Actually it really is a hole. It is built right into the ground. I got nothing for that one. We need a new place.
Thats why the U of A president has visited our Stadium 2 times in the past year to tour our facility.

Your stadium blows...enough said, and I live in a glass house too. Proenza needed to see how not to build it.

Don't scare me like that...please!

Wow how long did it take you to think of that comeback? YSU has been ahead of U of A for 25 years. The stadium is nice, video board, locker rooms, luxury boxes, lighting, concourse and press boxes are all top of the line. Not sure what blows about it. Sorry we don't have a stadium that high school teams hate playing in.
the mac has become the big ten's lady of the night (you know what i'm saying ?).... ..oh, come you all in the back gate of my stadium ,get the hell beat out of you, pick up your bag of money in the way out ..and don't invite me to your home, nothing personal, but i dont want people to see me in your house...that conversation is going on everyday in red light districts all over the country...at least indiana is having some respect for western mich. 04-bow
The Sporting News did a survery a few years back and concluded that Toledo, WMU and Marshall (the survery was done around 2001) had the best stadiums in the MAC. I think Toledo was voted as the best.

I have been to several MAC stadiums and Akron is by far the worst. The stadium has worn wooden bleachers, light posts at midfield and horrible bathroom and concession stand situation. The concessions and bathroom situation was bad and I think the crowd was only around 20K. I forgot to mention that getting to the stadium is also a bad experience.

Miami and Ohio have the best stadiums in the MAC in my opinion. Toledo was alright when I visited but it looked a little old and run down. Sounds like it has changed in recent years. The stadium has very good sight lines though, not a bad seat anywhere. I think Toledo was the first MAC school with a video board.
Reading this thread made me think of something a couple of buddies and I came up with while riding the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure a couple of years ago....Can you name Bill Clinton's Final Four? answer in next post, just to give you a chance to think
Bill Clinton's Final Four...Yes! a MAC team finally gets there...Ball State, Morehead State, Oral Roberts, and my personal favorite, Brigham Young. We considered but eliminated Rider.

You are full of it.

The Rubber Bowl hasn't had bleacher since I've been going there in the 70's.

If you can't get that straight, we can't belive anything else you say either.

If he had an NJCAA final 4, the John Wood College Woodies would make the list lmfao

Maybe we have a different meaning for the world bleachers. I call bleacher seats all seats that aren't chairbacks. What is your definition?

What I do know is that I sat in wooden bleachers at Akron
When was the last time you have been to the Rubber Bowl?

I call those bleachers. If they aren't bleachers, what are they?

Here is a little help http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleacher
I was lurking on peegs, IU's website. Of course, they pencil in those 3 games as wins. I suppose that's fine since they haven't lost to a MAC team in 30 years.

I chuckled a bit in regards to a WMU comment. One had said that WMU would be a tough game but was told in the next post that WMU loses their senior QB so they will be facing a team with a new QB....that will be a shocker to them. This 'new' QB ain't so new.
Jack Burns Wrote:Zipfan:

Sorry Jack...my bad...I left out the word "wooden."

Yep, they're bleachers, but they're fiberglass...I've never seen wooden bleachers in the 30 some years I've been going to the Bowl...although I know they used to have them back in the day.

Sorry for the confusion.
Thats alright.

I would also think it is a bit understandable if I forgot the surface of the bleachers. The last Zip game I went to was 2004. People forget minor things like that in three years. Especially when they go to about 7 college football games a year. I also apoligize for my mistake.

I still stand by my comments, though. The Rubber Bowl just isn't a decent D-1 stadium. I am amazed that Brookhart has done so well despite that facility.

I agree with you. I've had season tickets for the past 25 or so years and the place has really gone to hell.

I can understand the University's position not to spend big bucks on it with a new stadium on the way...but it's really bad to be playing the games there right now.
