Cajuns defeated South Alabama Thursday night to improve to 14-5 overall and 9-1 in conference. 04-cheers
I like seeing us up in the top 25, I hope we continue to climb, but the lost to UNO will definitely hurt us.

I don't think we will move up after the loss tonight but since we beat USA on Thursday, hopefully we won't move down too far. We really need at least 2 out of the next 3 on the road and the final 2 home games to get our RPI up before the tourney.
I pray this win won't drop us too much, and if we can play well against Rice then it should move us back up again. I was hoping to sweep everyone including Rice to get a good RPI, but I guess you can't get everything you asked for.
I am totaly behind you since it is becoming apparent that NT is not going to win the SB. so good luck to yall

You're in the Mid-Major TOP 25. Which is just another way for the media to create divison between BCS and non BCS in Basketball.

Yes that's true, but oh well. Hopefully the guys will play like they have been all season and we can show the voters that we're better than a mid-major.

I hope so too. I'd like to see a Sun Belt team in the Top 25. I haven't looked recently, but is UL-Lafayette getting votes?

I know many do not care for the term "mid-major" and I really don't either. However, at this point and time that is how most of the country sees us. Does the media play a part in that? yes. They are not the only reason. Time after time (as a conference) we do not take advantage of opportunities to get wins over "major" programs. A couple of recent examples

Football:
Middle Tennessee 40
Missouri 41

Basketball:
Louisiana 69
Arizona 72

We have only won 1 out of three New Orleans Bowl's. We have not gone past the 1st round of the NCAA Tournement since 1994 (I think). We MUST do better against our OOC opponents in all sports in order to gain respect outside of the conference. That is tough for schools with smaller atheltic budgets but we need to find a way. Only then will we quit being on these Mid-Major polls and ESPN's Bottom 10 in football. In the mean time I posted that poll's results to show a little national recognition for the success of a Sun Belt Conference (and my) school.
I hope we are, but I haven't checked in a while.
Maybe it is just because during WKU's rich basketball history, we weren't in the top 25 among mid-majors, we were in the top 25 of the nation. Being seperated from the other Div I schools and put in a secondary poll is just insulting to me. I don't aspire to be in the top 25 of a freakin' mid major poll. We aspire to be the cream of the crop in the NATION. Hopefully soon we will get back there, cause we've been there plenty.

I hope that we're both in the major polls in the future.
