Just trying to recruit some more viewership. If anyone is interested in a non MAC related rivalry game tune in to the Duece tommorrow at 2pm ET, 1PM CT.

This is an old rivalry that goes way back and is always a good game.
Sun Belt is struggling for an identity in basketball. WKY is the top team. They should consider adding Winthrop, Davidson for basketball. Not sure if that is a move up for those two, but Sun Belt is like the MAC. They need to bring in another program that lifts the rpi.
As an alum of both MTSU and WKU, I will be watching and hoping for an MTSU win.

i thought South Alabama was the Sun Belt's top team. They have 3 more Sun Belt wins than WKU.

I'll be at the NIU Women's vs. #17 BGSU game. For anyone who wants to watch that it will be on CSN Chicago, FSN Ohio, Comcast Local, and Time Warner in New York at 11:30 AM Central. If we win and go out to celebrate then i might not get to see the WKU game, otherwise i'll catch the remaining minutes of the game when i get back.
Watch OU/NIU on FSN instead at 3.

I would be watching that as well, except stupid CSN Chicago has decided to play a crappy game between UIC and Detroit over NIU and Ohio.. 04-chairshot
I can't believe NIU or MAC isn't on in Chicago. That's like showing a Cleveland State game over Kent State or Akron game here in Cleveland. NIU needs some respect. How are they gonna get going if they don't give them TV. Lot of Ohio alumni in Chicago area too...
It's absolutely ridiculous that our contract with Fox does not allow the best games to be shown. Frankly, NIU @ OU is a snooze. There's no reason they have to decide these games so far in advance.

We should have the biggest MAC game so far this season on today: Akron at Toledo.

Fox shows damn few games the whole season and they block Sportstime Ohio from picking any up. STO is all over this state and and would show 2-3 games per week if they got get a deal. They could then market them out to the Mich/IN/IL cable companies. They are already on satillite. They are begging for good college sports. They could do huge things for us.

We are just ghetto-ized on Fox Sports. They show crappy A-10 games without even Dayton or Xavier on Fox Ohio instead of MAC games with Ohio teams. They are a joke.

I think he might mean the basketball program as a whole. People know or have heard of WKY. I am not so sure about South Alabama (as much).

STO isn't much better, their contract with DirecTV is **** because DirecTV can turn off the feed at any time if they need bandwidth. STO still isn't broadcasting 24 hours a day and refuses to purchase any out of market sports. Why not get some OSU basketball instead of them airing on low-powered stations or not at all in Cleveland? They are doing nothing and their coverage of CSU basketball looks a cut below public access.

STO = lame.

Your facts are accurate, but I disagree with some of your conclusions. STO is new and has production limitations now. They will grow. They are there on Cleveland Indians money, and they need off-season sports. Frankly I don't care what else they show, even amateur poker and cheap amateur fights. I don't care that they aren't on 24/7. I know for a fact they would pick up Kent State basketball and perhaps other sports as well if we could get out of this stupid contract with Fox that puts some MAC teams on maybe twice a year, some once, some not at all, plus the tourney. They wanted to carry EVERY game of the BCA Classic (12 games) in Columbus this November and were even the title sponsor, but they the couldn't get the rights even though no one else was showing it.
Every network looks like crap when they start. We need to get a TV deal that actually gets us on the air throughout the season, not just for a few isolated games in the last half of the season.
It's a great opportunity for Ohio MAC teams, especially KSU.
Sun Belt men's hoops just isn't where it needs to be, and the women's side of the game can get even better than they are. Western played a great game today getting some production from their two freshmen while a couple of their upper classmen were on the bench with fouls.

I can't say that I follow the men all that much. My eyes and ears will be tuned into what is going on in Diddle Arena tomorrow between #18 Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky in women's basketball.

We will have to win this game and do it impressively in order to close in on a Top 15 ranking in the AP poll with Louisville and Cal dropping games this past week already and Bowling Green State just four AP points ahead of us.

Feel free to stop on by the Blue Raider Zone to chat it up with us.

SportsTime Ohio bailed as the title sponsorship of the BCA Classic. Not sure if that was because they wanted to get every game, but when they put out a schedule of the BCA games they were going to televise, it was only the OSU and KSU games in the first round, the semis and the final. About a week before the BCA, they bailed and KSU's coverage was gone.

The thing is, the Indians coverage looked fine on STO, but everything else looks public access about the channel.

I have no problem putting the MAC on STO, that would be fine with me. But just like everything the Indians have done the past few years, they've done it on the cheap.

The only reason why Indians baseball looks good compared to everything else on STO is that, Indians baseball is contracted privately through the organization and then what we see on STO is polished up version that has went through production at WKYC. Everything else on STO is done throught small production houses, that have very little in techology.

Forgot about that. They have a fiber feed set up from Jacobs Field directly to the WKYC studio.

Nail, Hammer, Head........ 04-bow

The MAC is placing all of its national network TV basketball eggs into the basket of ESPN and it is not working.

ESPN is doing a nice job in terms of total number of exposures for the conference in football.......between ABC/ESPN/ESPNU 50% of our MAC games are nationally televised.

Compare to basketball where the MVC and CAA have extensive ESPNU packages while all the MAC has is 1 game on ESPN plus bracketbuster....that sucks.

The MAC would be better trying to partner up with CSTV who right now is showing 20 CUSA games a year, far more than what ESPN would offer even on ESPNU.

Ranking college basketball programming.....

1.ABC
2.CBS
3.ESPN
4.ESPN 2
5.FOX National
6.CSTV
7.ESPNU
8.MSG
9.Fox Sports Regional
10.Comcast Regional
11.Sports Time Ohio
12.Local ESPN+

I'd rather see the MAC with games on CSTV than ESPNU or Fox Sports Ohio........CSTV is supposed to be to CBS what ESPN is to ABC........the only conferences with CSTV deals are CUSA, MWC, and the Atlantic 10 so there is less competition for programing time on that network compared with ESPN which is loaded to the gills with conferences.
