[quote]Norwell senior quarterback Chandler Harnish stuck with his commitment and officially signed with Northern Illinois on Wednesday.

After Harnish led the Knights to a 14-1 record and a Class 3A state runner-up finish, some thought he might be able to receive offers from bigger schools. Whether or not those offers ever came, Harnish never wavered.

Leave it to Northwestern to keep recruiting our verbal commits.... 05-stirthepot
That probably says for the most part, we recruit high integrity individuals. Corbin Bryant, Ben Johnson. This also keeps you from potentially losing scholarships because players drop out.

When we lose recruits to other MAC teams, that is what bothers me.
There are three articles in The Daily Herald today about NU recruiting Chicago.

It is interesting to note that three recent recruits from Chicago had ACT scores of 20, 18, and 22. The 22 score came from a kid they stole from NIU last year.

Like i tried to say earlier, i'm sure NU is lowering its academic standards for football, and sports in general. Under normal circumstances there is probably 0% chance that someone with a 18, 20 and 22 ACT score would get into NU.

Yes there is. You just have to go to JUCO to get the grades in order to transfer. But I really wouldn't know anything about that. :shhh:

We can never have enough quality QBs. Most remember not too long ago playing the 6th String Fr. walk-on for the majority of the season. It was the year we broke the streak.

Ok, let me be more specific. Coming straight out of high school under normal circumstances you would not get into NU with a 18, 20 or 22 ACT score. So for every player NU admits that has an ACT score of 18 they have to make up for it by admitting a normal high school student with a 36 ACT score (or at least 30 or higher ACT score).
ACT is only one measure that any institution looks at. If a recruit had a high GPA & classrank, any nonIVY league program would enroll them with a 22.

Stop 03-hissyfit already about NIU losing recruits to a program with better academics. With all new O coaches and the Yordan Center as a showpiece, maybe these new coaches will actually work other states to get better talent than 6 of the 50.

There is a big difference in getting a 4.0 in the CPS system and a 4.0 at Naperville North. Also, the competition at Naperville North is greater so getting a higher classrank is more difficult. The academics at Naperville North are harder than the academics in the CPS system. The complaint with the CPS system is that the curriculum is made in order to push kids through and make it easier for them so they can graduate. Then they get to college and they are not prepared because they aren't at the same level as someone who graduated from NN.
