Big day for the MAC East.....

Here is hoping to wins by Kent, Akron, Miami, and Bowling Green!

How about that offensive explosion by the Broncos? 13 points for the first half. That kind of huge scoring clinic will make anyone shake in their boots. LOL.
Once again, ESPN shows how careless they are when giving standings. The say Ohio and Akron are the top 2 teams in the MAC but then say that Akron beat Ohio on 1/6. How hard is it to just get the outcome right?
We are undefeated in MAC regulation this season.......6-0

0-2 in OT 03-hissyfit
Northern Illinois takes firm control of the 12th seed today with an impressive performance at home vs Kent State.......Kent State even was short handed today without Q.

Yeah they forgot that team in the west, that is truly leading the conference. TOLEDO!!!

I can't believe Northern Illinios isn't better than a plus 300 RPI team.

The NIU program has:

1.The newest basketball arena in the MAC

2.Name recognition as a Division 1-A school through football

3.Close proximety to the fertile Chicagoland recruiting area

No MAC team should be below 250 in the RPI.

No reason at all NIU should be this bad. To top it off, they hurt the entire conference because they could be a top tier team for the reasons listed.

Let's kick out the bottom feeders NOW! ;-)
They just announced that Savage Hall is sold out for the UT/Miami game coming up in about 40 minutes.

Fantastic!
NIU needs a legit coah for basketball Judson team just isn't competing in a down MAC.

Hey now. BG is going to fight tooth and nail for that spot all year.

Yes, and NIU is short-handed every game. Not to mention, two of our best players Rand and Yelder have been out most of the season and may not even come back this season.

I agree, we should be a top-tier team. Problem is, our coach can't recruit and when he does get a really good player, which is rare, they end up quitting the team or transferring. NIU gave Coach Judson a lot to work with (a higher salary than our football coach, a brand new $36 million facility, and the close proximity to Chicago). NIU needs a coach who players respect, can recruit well, is a good motivator, and can coach.
Toledo 61
Miami 56
FINAL

Toledo is 7-0 now and 2-0 against East teams. 4-0 on the road and 3-0 at home in conference.

They will beat us by at least 10. You can quote me on that.
Rand is a capable role player and Yelder has barely seen a college basketball floor, so if those are your best players you are in trouble. In reality, Northern has 2 of the top 5 most talented players in the MAC with Mckinney and Hughes. Both guys have great athleticism, good skills and nice size for their positions. the problem has been primarily with coaching. Judson and staff have also made some curious recruiting moves. More than a couple small guards with average ball skills on that roster over the last 5 years. Maybe, Yoder is different, but if NIU had a point who could break folks down a bit and dish (like a Kashif Payne or Dru Joyce) Mckinney and Hughes would be eating real well. Right now, Judson has simply lost that team (and his job). They don't truly want to compete. At least BG tries.

as for the league, it looks like Akron and UT might be separating a little. Ohio could prove that wrong Wednesday and Kent is still good, but clearly Toledo and Akron are playing the best team ball. However, I expect ESPN will pick OU and Akron for the brackbuster and stiff Toledo despite their 7-0 league record, league leading attendance (over 2000 more per game than anyone else), and top 100 rpi, hope I'm wrong.
