can ya smell an EMU or Temple homecoming!?!?!?!?

Tough road schedule next year....BG, Toledo, CMU, OHIO all away.
That's only 11 games. Are they looking for a 12th?
Husky Hub Wrote:That's only 11 games. Are they looking for a 12th?
Yep. Still need another OOC game. I am hoping for another home game (it would give us 7 if you include the Iowa game), but I think we'll travel to another BCS school.

EDIT: Like NIURedBlack, I have also heard rumors of Purdue or Minny. Possibley it even being a home and home.
Husky Hub Wrote:That's only 11 games. Are they looking for a 12th?
Yes. I've heard RUMORS they are trying to work on something with Purdue or Minny.

Mid level Big 10, book it!

That leaves Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Purdue. Illinois and Northwestern won't play us, we've already played Michigan and OSU the past two season, and we are already playing Iowa at Soldier Field.

Thanks for the info. I agree, i doubt Purdue would play two MAC teams on the road.

I would take Indiana, MSU, or Minnesota in a heartbeat! And who says NW wouldn't schedule us? Give them some credit, as they scheduled us not long ago! Illinois already has their non conf schedule filled.

I believe it has been mentioned that NIU tried to setup a future matchup with Northwestern but they didn't want to.

I see. Guess you can't blame them.. we gave them all they could handle. Then again New Hampshire beat them in their house last year, so if they are playing by these rules, who would they be willing to schedule?

I think they got scared away after that game last year. We played a Northwestern team that was the best they have been since 2000 and probably their best team until a few years from now. Northwestern had a very high-powered offense last year.

Except they are not recruiting against New Hampshire for the most part, so losing to them doesn't hurt them as bad as losing to us would.

Eastern Michigan
Temple

Road Schedule:

Home Schedule - almost as bad as 2006. SIU - a good rivalry game, but still a 1-AA opponent. Western Michigan - a good MAC opponent. Ball State - average at best. Temple and EMU - bad!

Away Schedule - very tough. We'll be underdogs in every game. Best chance for a win would be Bowling Green.

The tough road schedule means we need our 12th game to be at home and it should be a quality opponent. If the 12th game is a road game against a BCS team, it's going to be very tough for us to win 7 games in 2007!
Illinois refuses to play us until they get better..This from a source who should know.
From a good source ....Joe has tried to get NW to come to DeKalb but they so far have turned us down. He would like to play them every year switching locations each year..No dice per NW

Can't see it being Purdue. They play at Toledo and host Central Michigan next year. Can't see them playing a 3rd MAC school. They also host I-AA Eastern Illinois and their 4th OOC opponent is still being looked for, but I doubt it will be another MAC school.
If I had to guess Id say we get a home and home with the Gophers.
