This one begs for a poll.

but I don't know how to do a poll. 03-weeping

I'll say #2 behind FL but ahead of OSU, but as they are the ONLY undefeated team my vote also seems hard to figure.

It should be #1 or if not that, then maybe #3.

Picking Boise #2 is kind of sitting on the fence.

A crazy compromise. Something which doesn't seem right.

Like a woman being 'kind of preg."

A flawed vote.

I want an 8-team playoff - 6 BCS teams + 2 at-large INCLUDING a mandatory at least one from the non-BCS conferences.
something else....boise finishes #5

enough to vote for Boise and make a statement.

Boise was undefeated and deserve to the consideration that an unbeaten team is accorded until actually beaten.
USC and LSU lose 2 games and finish ahead of Boise State. This is all a bias against non-BCS schools. The thought that we can't really be that good. I am sure they think Boise's win over Oklahoma was a fluke.

This is why a playoff is needed. Screw the Big 10 commish and anyone else that thinks otherwise. There is no true champion. The NCAA recognizes App. State as the Division I Champion. I recognize Boise State as the National Champion. I don't care what other clueless people think.

I understand where you're coming from and I think it's a shame Boise ended up at #5, but take a step back for a minute....

Do you think Boise State could've run the table in the Pac 10? Big 10? SEC?

Who knows? They slapped Oregon State pretty good. Oregon State beat USC and went to and won the Sun bowl game over a Big Ten school.

Would George Mason have done well if they were in the Big East for basketball last year?

The point is that they had a fair shot because of a playoff and they made a great run. Boise State doesn't have the depth that top BCS schools do, but in a playoff run of 3 or 4 games they would be capable of winning it.

And if you really want to talk about apples and oranges, because that is the difference between being in a BCS conference and being in the WAC, MAC, etc..................then realize that if Boise State was in the PAC 10 they would have been getting much better recruits coming their way too.

As for running the table in the PAC 10, Big 10, or SEC.........well the only school that did that was Ohio State, and they lost badly in their bowl game. So why would Boise State have to run the table in one of those conferences to get into the national championship game? They could lose 1 game and still get in. Heck, didn't Nebraska play in the NC game a few years back with 2 losses?

Do I think that Boise would have beaten OSU last night?? Yes I do and you can not prove otherwise. In fact, if I say that Boise can not be beaten at all, I am closer to having facts on my side than you are assuming that a team that has been beaten before is better. No one else went thru the PAC 10 unbeaten either. And for those who say that Boise does not have the depth of another team, How do you know? You are only lapping up the kool aid. Boise's 85th player may not be as good as OSU's 85th player. So what? They may have 35 players that do not know how to lose. So what do we have?

We have a NC that has been beaten. We have 2 teams in the top 5 that have been beaten twice each. We have the only undefeated team in the country as number 5. We have a group of fans rationalizing this projection. What a country?

I agree with you. I brought up the depth issue because it is true. Boise State's head coach would agree about the depth issue. But like you said that may not matter as long as your guys playing on the field can get it done.

And that is why I saw they can play with anybody in the country.
I don't get it. How could anyone argue that OSU did not play like #2 last night?

More BCS bias showing. 1) BYU kicked Oregon's butt in their bowl and only go up 3 slots, while Texas damn near lost to a 6-6 Iowa team (26-24) playing in their home state. Texas goes up 5 slots for beating Iowa in San Ant. 03-puke

2) TCU beats NIU by 30, Oregon St barely beats an unranked MO team by 1. TCU has only 2 losses and OSU 4, yet OSU is ranked higher?

3) Hawaii finishes 11-3 with a 17 pt bowl win over ASU yet is behind GA and TN who lost to an unranked PSU by 10? 04-chairshot

DevilGrad Wrote:I don't get it. How could anyone argue that OSU did not play like #2 last night?

The only good performance that OSU put on the field last night might have been the marching band. ;-)

lmfao

Well played, but a team with 4 losses shouldn't be ahead of another with only 2; when the team with 4 losses won it's bowl by 1 pt and the team with 2 won it's by 30.

Thank you for making my argument. A TEAM WITH 2 LOSES SHOULD NOT BE AHEAD OF A TEAM WITH NO, NADA, 0 LOSES!!! 03-hissyfit
They're No. 1.

And they should be printing the t-shirts to go with it.

I'd buy one.
