A Few MAC gifts so far....

There was an article about EMU FB and indicating the AD indicated "planning" has begun for an indoor practice facility and increasing the conference low FB budget.

We'll see. 03-yawn

I'll believe these dreams when I see it. I'm not trying to be a downer but Eastern doesn't have much money to do much of anything.

It would have been nice if Santa had droped 7 figures on EMU athletics.

but with attendance in the tank we don't even get good homes gates in FB.

Some MAC teams will sell 20K tixs for a conference game, we'll sell 2K. 03-weeping

EMU got hosed on their schedule last season--three road games in a row-all losses, and its first home game is until Sept. 23. Then two more on the road and its final game at 11 a.m. the day fter Thanksgiving. No wonder no one comes to the games.
Schedules produce winners and losers and the EMU schedule produced nothing but grief for EMU.

Having said that, I still maintain, in a change of heart ;-) , that all of these 'dream' schedules we salivate over are really disasters in the making.

I believe Eastern plays @ UofM, @Vandy (I believe), @ Idaho and home to Northwestern.

EMU will be an underdog in all four games.

Another masochist's dream come true.

What happened to the good ole schedules, home vs. I-AA, @UB, home vs. MTSU, etc.

Sorry I couldn't resist putting MTSU in there for laughs. :shhh:
EMU should have good revenue next season. The game @UM typically pays about 400K. If they can can get a few early wins and make things interesting then the Northwestern game at Ford Field on Oct 20 could draw well.

EMU really need the MAC opener at home next season. Otherwise they'll start with 3 road games with UM on 9/1 and Idaho on 9/8. I'd like to see WMU @ EMU on 9/16.
Quote:25. Eastern Michigan- A suitable replacement for the extremely underrated Eric DeSlauriers, an athletic department that is interested in publicizing their players (like every other school in the MAC), and more than 15,000 fans for each home game.

I assume Dave (among others) will be saying "Amen" in a minute.
I think EMU would be happy with 1,500 fans for each home game. How about giving them 15,000 human beings in the stands for each home game?
