In the process of making Christmas dinner. Just completed Sausage and Peppers. Taste tested, excellent. Pasta with either Vodka Sauce or Homemade Marinara. Bruchetta. Chianti. Ceasar Salad. Fresh green beans and carrots. Garlic bread. Left over Vodka. After two days of heaving eating, I am in game shape. Today will be my best performance. 02-13-banana 02-13-banana

Merry Christmas to everyone. When I sat on Santa's lap(kind of looked like Dog Fan) I asked him fro a 20 point scorer for the basketball team. Guess I was not good enough to get my wish. 03-hissyfit
Mmmmm. 04-wine

I'll be over around 6!
Nice.

I've got the best of all worlds. Girlfriend's parents are amazing cooks (gourmet and polish food) and have cooked honey baked ham and other awesome dinner food. Grandparents are more traditional and had various meats and cheeses las night, followed up by spaghetti, etc (although not as good as Klake's). Mom cooked great breakfast food this morning, and Dad is serving italian beef with all the fixin's today.(Some
This is a great thread!

Last night my wife made her lasagna which I paired with a nice bottle of merlot.

Tonite we venture to my 100% Greek in-laws. Always great food. My mother-in-law is going to make her spanicopita (spinach pie) and my father-in-law will make the perfect prime rib medium rare. I'll have to pair that with a nice cabernet or zinfandel.

Who else is making dinner?

Baklava for dessert? Man is that good but high in calories.
Last nite was our traditional christmas eve seafood dinner with my aunt and uncle on my moms side. Crab legs, cold shrimp, breaded shrimp, regular and fruit salad, homemade bread, and a couple good bottles of white wine. My mom made kolatchkys for desert. Tonite will be the first time we havent gotten togethor with anyone from my dads side. All my cousins have gotten married or are doing their own things, so it will just be me, my brother and my parents at our house. A turkey is in the oven right now, and the stuffing is made.
I'm at Old Pa's right now. We have cold shrimp and meatballs. When I go back to moms there will be turkey, ham, and BEER!!!
Alcohol!

I went out and bought cases of various beer and received several bottles of nice alcohol for Christmas.

Cruzan Single Barrel Rum...yes...
I also made a great find. I went to Dominicks for a Bottle of wine or two. They have a special if you buy six or more bottles, you get an extra 10% off. 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana

Ouch, especially when it is Jack in the Box. Thats one FF place I don't wish we had in Chicago. Hardee's on the other hand. 02-13-banana

I ALWAYS stop at Hardees along the tollroads when I go back to Chicago. It is really too bad they all left the Chicago market. 03-hissyfit

How about this place. lmfao

From an old Yahoo article:

"They have a burger called "quadruple bypass burger". "...stacked with four beef patties, cheese, onions, tomatoes and fried bacon, and weighs in at only 8,000 calories, more than three times what the human body needs in one day."

"Customers who have room for more can also order French fries "fried in pure lard" and can purchase cigarettes off the menu. As a courtesy, the restaurant offers its "best customers" a wheelchair service to their cars by waitresses dressed in slinky nurses' outfits".
20 mins left on the Cornish hens, garlic roasted potatoes and artichoke hearts. A new Christmas tradition, starting this year!

Followed by shortbread Christmas cookies, and a fine single malt - though I can't seem to decide between a Laphroaig, Glenlivet or a McClellands.

Probably go with the McClellands....... yummmmm.

My daughter was baptized on Saturday, and we had a party afterward, so I've had three straight days of feasting and imbibing.

Saturday-various meats and cheeses, fish crackers from Japan (! a revelation!!) and trays of spring rolls, egg rolls, satays, and rangoons from Bea's Wok n' Roll washed down with some outstanding California reds brought by a family friend who works for Stanford and regularly visits the wine country.

Sunday-Ham and cheesy potatoes plus shrimp and cocktail sauce, seafood salads, four different types of salami and sausage, 12 varieties of crackers, eight varieties of cheese (including Stilton, Gloucester and various blues), a relish tray with a fine blue cheese, and more types of olives than I can identify.

Plus WAY, WAY too much wine and beer and spirits... 03-melodramatic

Today-Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, brussel spouts with bacon, Ham, more cheesy potatoes, gravy, seafood salad, Flemish soup, and several California sparkling wines and a couple good Rieslings.

I cooked the Turkey on the grill beer-can style and it was..... 02-13-banana 02-13-banana

Alas, the stomach flu is working it's way through my household, so this evening I'm losing all the weight I gained the last three days.

Still, a great couple of days filled with family, food and fun

Merry Christmas Everyone!!
