An advertising postcard from WMU regarding tickets for the International Bowl.

It kind of made me mad to read that. Not that they sent it me, as I have ordered tickets from them before. But, the idea that there are 4 bowl tie-ins this year and we couldn't eek out enough wins to get one of them. 03-melodramatic
if i was still in the area, i would be all for supporting a MAC team in a bowl game.
Not saying I don't support them. I do like the Western fans. Just ticks me off that with the most opportunities ever we couldn't qualify for one of them.
well, if we hadnt blown leads against central and Eastern, and our offensive coordinator had a set of balls against Iowa State, we would be in a bowl game.
I glad the Rockets aren't having to play a mediocre Sunbelt team in the MCB.UT needs the Liberty Bowl against the SEC to move ahead.A $1.7 million payout is better than anything MAC teams are getting now.It would also improve recruiting.

In 2004 the MAC had 5 teams bowling, so this is the 2nd most ever. ;-)

Good point. I meant "tie-ins" and you know it. 03-nerner

I still think about that. Hard to swallow we are not in a bowl. And not even in the "bowl mix" when everyone on MAC boards were discussing that. Win at ISU to start. Beat EMU. We are bowling.
Hey guys, it sometimes takes a step behind(less our Shannon) to get ahead. Think about it ,it was a group failure this season(led by Shannon).
After our loss at ISU I left the stadium thinking even in defeat , what promise this team had.
After WMU , how my thoughts changed. As a matter of fact the whole season changed. We were a highly respected program by our MAC opponents at that game. We left that game wounded and the blood smell was immediately detected by our future MAC opponents. Our favorite guys lost abit of confidance after that particular game. We lost many seasons worth of momentum and never really totally recovered.
It's off season now, now it's up to the coaches and this extremely experienced team to pay the price . Get to work! Study acedemically and athletically.
Gosh I hated how this season went. I , gut thinking, feel really good about our wins against Akron and NIU this year, and personally think what ever mindset that took place in those two UT wins will pay dividends in another season of excellant ROCKET FOOTBALL.
Which is WHAT WE EXPECT.
I agree with you chug. Sometimes a bad season makes for a good reality check. Besides it'll be nice to reap the benefits of a bowl payout without having to spend the money to send our team to the bowl for a change. But let's not make this a habit.

I support all MAC Teams in Bowls games, and trust me I know the feeling of staying home during the bowl season.
