=>Hot coach, rebuilt Ohio U. football from the only program in the MAC to have lost to Buffalo twice to the East Champions in just 2 years. Somebody must be looking at him.

I must admit that Solich has done a good job. He would be a perfect retread for C-USA.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Solich WILL be back at Ohio next season and he WILL retire at Ohio. First of all, he's fine with being at Ohio, and I don't think he feels like hes accomplished what he wanted to accomplish. Second, no big school wants a coach his age. Big schools want young coaches that will be there a long time, everyone will be looking for a Schiano type. And I don't see any reason why he would want to move to the Conference USA.
Solich is 13-11 at Ohio in two years. Now the fun starts. The recruits wil be better as Ohio has shaken its losing reputation. The Bowl game is a big deal. Ohio has generated a lot of publicity on top of just the hire of Solich. If Ohio begin to land the players that typical MAC elite teams have, the Solich will have the ability to open things up. The future schedules were design for the tradition Ohio teams. Next year Wyoming, @La-Lafafayette, and add in a D-AA cupcake and Bobcats might have a decent shot at a 3-1 OOC record. Kent State, Temple, @Buffalo, Miami....that's the seven games that Ohio should be favored to win next year. If Ohio can find a way to win @BGSU and @Akron........You could see Ohio win the east and go back to a bowl. Bobcats biggest hurdle for BCS glory is @VA Tech. Bobcats will have a super D-line next year with Cohen & Company. The best way to beat a BCS team is stop the run and Bobcats have the D-line to atleast keep Va Tech from piling up yards and points.

It's hard to predict how these things will go. Look at Mike Price at UTEP. He goes 8-4 his first 2 years, (inheriting a team that went 2-9, 2-10, and 2-11 in the previous 3 years!) then ends up at 5-7 this year.

Now rumors are that he'll leave. Of course Price is only 60, but...

Despite his improvements, rumors of Solich's leaving or retirement will be used against him; as will the foolishness of, "option football can't win".

I'm not saying you're wrong about Ohio U. picking up momentum...but rather you're right about it being a big "if" Ohio U can recruit the MAC elite.
We don't run an option offense...

Looks like we are going to have to step up recruiting efforts at OU if we want to stay on top.......with Temple now in division there is going to be more competition.
