The Motor City will never be the same.

Check out our tailgating mecca, the world famous Hillbilly Hilton.

Most of the Hillbilly Hilton tailgaters are members of Middle Tennessee's Message board, the Blue Raider Zone,

Are you kidding me? Marshall played in the MCB in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. It has never been the same since. The middle of the state of Tennessee has nothing on Huntington. lmfao
Is the HH coming to Detroit?

Okay, HMM post some pics of your setup...

Also, how about the Toledo Jambulance and the BSU Sled?
HuskiemobileMan Wrote:Is the HH coming to Detroit?

No, HH will not be making the trip. We'd have to leave before Christmas in order to make it(-; (top speed is 55 MPH)

Here she is getting her annual bath before the start of football season:

This is a recent story written about the Hillbilly Hilton in the local press:

Here she is at Vanderbilt, getting ready to put the "smack down" on the Commodores:

Actually - most of the present day Detroit population migrated up from Kentucky/Tennessee in the 1920-1940 era to fill good paying jobs on the assembly lines. This is when Detroit's African-American population boomed as well. It wasn't much of a town (black/white or other) before that.

They still nickname certain parts of the Detroit area after their southern roots - Taylor-tucky (Taylor), Wall-tucky (Walled Lake), etc. We have the trailer parks to prove it. In fact, people from the entire region of "Downriver" (everything south of Detroit, but still in Wayne County) are often still referred to as "Hillbillies" as well.
Very cool.

The Toledo Rockets "Jambulance". Farthest trips (so far) have been to the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, AL, Philadelphia to play Temple, and Ames, Iowa for the Iowa State game. Next fall it will be headed to Lawrence, Kansas for the Kansas-Toledo game.

Where'd the rocket come from? There was no rocket accessory attached when i got to hang out with the Jambulance and its crew. Ah well, maybe next time.

I know, i was just being facetious.
Nice tailgating mobile.

Maybe one of these days, the Hilton can meet up with the Jambulance.

We have played Toledo recently in hoops, and I'm sure we'll play one of these days on the gridiron.

I wish my Blue Raiders would play MAC schools more often.

Only team I can think of that we've played is Akron (and they used to be in the OVC with us). We did defeat Northern Illiniois for our first win against a 1-A program (back when we were still 1-aa)
